Summer Nail Spa — Local services in New York

I have used this place 4 times - today was the last. I was happy on the first visit - the second visit - they had someone on my nails (dip powder) who I realized quickly was learning. She could not finish the job and filed my nailed down so thin that Lily finished it for her. The third time I visited, Lily did a wonderful job on my nails. She asked me who did them the last time and said it was a poor job - I pointed to the woman and she nodded - remembering the incident. Today I went in. The lady doing my pedicure was kind - but she was rushed. I guess they are getting popular now and more people are coming in so they move fast. She scrubbed my left foot for 2 minutes thoroughly and my right foot for almost 30 seconds. ..but I let it go. When it came time for my nails, Lily began and got almost to the end when another customer came in and requested her. When she saw the lady was pulling off her own foil wrap used to soak off - she began to rush through my process to finish up. I asked her, "please, don't rush - we are almost done". She acted as if she did not understand. Then, before she finishes with me - she tells me to sit somewhere else and wait until I dry. (dry? SNS Dip powder? I have been getting my nails done for the better part of 25 years - I know when my nails are dry or wet. - They were very dry) Even the customer told her to go ahead and finish me because she was not in a rush. She ignored it. I asked her nicely to please finish the job and she ignored me again. I got up - paid my bill - tipped the lady who gave me a pedicure and told Lily that she was wrong. The manager (I guess that is who she is) tried to explaining to me that it is summer time and they have to move fast. I gently stopped her and said "don't do that - don't make an excuse - I am paying you, and I am not causing trouble - but you and I know ..you don't treat customers this way." I am a 20% tipper no matter what - in all personal services- because these folk don't get paid a lot - but here's this - I like to spend my money places that have courtesy and respect. As much as I began to like the place - this is NYC - there are two more in walking distance - and another dozen or so within a mile. Disgusted and as I study my nails, I am completely unhappy with the appearance. Please spend your hard earned money in a more professional setting. DO NOT GO TO THIS DISGUSTING NAIL SALON unless you want awful nails and finger infections. SO EXPENSIVE FOR AWFUL WORK. I went to this salon and asked the nail tech if she knew how to do a specific shape of my nail. She said she could easily do it and not to worry. After my nails looked awful and nothing like the picture I showed. I however, was in a rush so I decided to let it be paid and tipped (which I should not have). Exactly a week later almost all of my nails were off and my pointer finger was throbbing and swollen. Not only were my nails ruined but my gel pedicure was already chipped after not even a week (most gel pedicures last AT LEAST 3 weeks) I went back today and asked if she could remove my pointer finger acrylic as it was causing me a lot of pain. She was disgustingly rude and said she will remove it for $10. Why would I pay $10 to remove your awful work that caused an infection under the nail. Mind you half 3 of my other fingers already had the nail come off after a week, but since this one was in so much pain I did not want to rip it off. AWFUL...

Went in for pedicure & manicure Ivy tended to me . During pedicure took a paper thin piece of Emory attached to a plastic stick once she dipped in water it fell off did not add a piece just skipped past and clipped and polished toenails No callous removal Just shook her head no and smiled when I pointed to bottom of my foot Next came manicure I did have one nail that was broken (my own nails) she was so busy talking & whispering to other workers behind her mask that wasn't paying attention or listening to me that she TOOK HER CLIPPERS AND CUT ALL MY NAILS DOWN TO EDGE OF MY FINGERS Paid no attention or didn't hear After first 3 fast clips waste to stop there lol as for cuticles some are done some not. WHEN YOU TRY TO COMMUNICATE JUST SMILES and NODS MY nails and feet HURT & ARE SORE 2days later. As far as I am concerned would have felt better contributing my 36.00 to a charity STAY AWAY I had said on arrival I will book ahead every 2 weeks Perhaps they think wrinkles and senior years means...
