WATCH OUT FOR MANAGEMENT!! The location of the place is good, the place is nice, BUT I don't recommend to international travelers, who can not deal with very nasty, and not helpful management office.
Since they put up "Welcome" sign in many languages, I introduce to my friend from Japan to stay at this place for 1 month spending about $7,000, but they have such a horrible customer care whenever I visited her like following...
They did not have her name nor key ready when I took her there at the first time. It was partially due to using an agency in between, but they should have check with the agency who is coming & when. They don't really have computerized system, so I had to ask them to look into paper files. They made us wait half hr at lobby till they can find it to check in.
Then, they did not apology what happened (just made excuses) nor did not even offer to help her carry her luggage nor cart.
After I asked the front desk person to come help her, he did not even bother to show her the room, how to use any electronics device in the room until I asked him to do so. In addition to that, there is no explanation how to use the room even in English.
The Chinese management lady, Lacy, did not check the computer to make sure her stay was extended and came up to my very quiet friend, and screamed at her to get out from her apt next day. Lacy found out my friend who was frightened, (understand, but) do not speak English well, she rolled her eyes and asked her for agency's number (which c should have it & called before she did this to the GUEST!). And when we asked her to check the email for the confirmation of the extension, she found the email from agency, then let her go. Of course, there are no apology from her.
... Finally I called this place to complain, and Sales Manager, Katiria, was very nice to help my friend from these abuse. But I wish nobody has to go through this trouble, so that they can simply have a good time in NY.
pros: good location, new room, there are some friendly staff cons: bad management, no 24Hrs security system, laundry is small & need coins, Window does not open,...
Read moreI moved into Sutton Marquis and absolutely loved the building and the staff. My 1 star review is for management (not the doormen, porters, or maintenance team - they're amazing!).
I did not know electric was not included in my rent. To my surprise, I started to get charged for electric. I'm someone that enjoys keeping my apartment cold, so I NEVER turned on my heat. I also do not use a lot of lighting because of all the natural light I can get during the day. However.... my November electric was $208, then December was $258, and January was $357. Again, I never turn on my heat - even on the coldest of days!
I feel robbed! I feel like I'm being charged for the building's electric or my neighbors or something. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one having this problem. I was really hoping to stay long-term in this building, but I'm ready to leave today.
Oh the management team is also impossible to reach.

Read moreWe stayed at Sutton Court in Sept/Oct 2018 and considering it was our first experience in New York it was an amazing one. The staff were friendly and helpful and by the time we left after 5 weeks we considered them friends. Manuela, Danny, Omar and Paul, you all made us feel so welcome and your wonderful help and advice steered us in the right direction to enjoy the very best of New York, thankyou! As for the apartment, we stayed in a 1 bedroom on 32nd floor facing the East River, a quiet room with a view of the river, Empire State building and Chrysler building, it was just magical looking out at the lights every night and a quiet haven to return to each night after enjoying the vast, busy island of Manhattan. Only 3 blocks from the Subway and 5 blocks from Central park Sutton is in a fantastic location, unusually large rooms for accommodation in NY and in a nice safe area. We will...
