Under cooked uttapam and no salt in the potatoes of the dosa . The other dishes were also mediocre but technically nothing wrong . When I brought the first issue to the hostesses attention, coz I just couldn’t eat raw uttapam anymore she was confused. The manager overheard her and screamed at me that everyone else likes it and that it wasn’t possible . He actually screamed. He said I was trying to get a free meal. That if I wanted a crisp one I should have specified, I was shocked at what an issue they were making and told them to atleast remove the plate from i front of me. Then my husband also told her about the salt and requested them to taste and validate. The manager who had left by then but was passing us again stopped to scream at us in front of all the guests that if we didn’t like anything it was our problem. He wanted us to pay for the uttapam and hadn’t realized that I had sent it back so kept asking me why I ate it if it was raw. Not pausing long enough to listen to us or hear us out . The whole restaurant was staring at us which got us agitated. He told us to call the cops if we wnTed waving his finger and shouting as he left. Encouraged by the manager the hostess who had been sweet till then suddenly started shouting too and getting aggressive. Never going back . Mediocre food and humiliating behavior for a $14 uttapam because we told them it was bit undercooked . All you need to do is look at any comment that is not favorable to the establishment and read their response . Never a regret or apology. Anyone who doesn’t praise them is appalling . Simple . No wonder you never need a reservation to get...
Read moreWORST customer service. Food taste comes after that! Unfortunately we have been hospitalized to take care of our daughter and forced to order food nearby. We made about $400 order to this place within a month. Everytime an order is placed they take a delivery fee even after that they expect TIPS for delivering food which takes more than an HOUR to deliver! (It is jus 0.6 miles away) We offer tips for almost all the delivery and on a time when we questioned why they are charging delivery fee as well as tips they wantedly miss an item that is been ordered. When we call and recheck the manager rudely says that you don't provide the tip then you don't expect correct order as well! As far as tips are concerned it shouldn't be FORCED! And she says it's out of delivery area and tips are expected. I don't understand: If the delivery (which is 0.6 miles) is out of area why it is been listed for ordering to the address! If they expect tips why do they charge delivery fee Everytime! And wantedly if they plan to miss items from the order what SERVICE they are providing to the CUSTOMERS!
Above all If you call and ask about the missed item on the order they just ignore you and say they DON'T WANT any customer who doesn't give tips! In NYC, LOTS of food deliveries happen without delivery fee as well as tips and they deliver much longer distances as well! Wake up A2B! Come on be sensible where you should expect tips and try to be honest with your order. Don't run the business only for money earn CUSTOMER'S RESPECT first. Totally PISSED OFF & writing this review...
Read moreFirst things first - this is NOT an official franchise location of A2B. If that's what you were looking for, you will be disappointed as we were! I am South Indian and came to visit with my South Indian family friends, so i can confidently say this wasn't the most authentic place to get proper South Indian food. The pongal was not made with the correct type of rice, and the medu vada left much to be desired. We ordered some dosas and the inside stuffing to dosa ratio was not great. Way too much potato masala which left the dosa soggy. I ordered a paneer rava dosa and the stuffing was mostly potato with hints of paneer and the thickness of the rava dosa was not what I expected. In addition to food not being up to our expectation, the service was so terrible. They brought out our chais before we even started the meal, which is so strange because you always drink chai after you're done eating. Each dish also came to the table so late that one person was fully finished eating and several of us were still waiting for food. Overall, it felt like if we needed a server, we were bothering them and getting in their way. Maybe I would order takeout from here if I didn't have time to go to New Jersey to have a meal from the real A2B location, but there is no way I would sit down and eat here again. The food is not terrible, but it's not the most authentic, and the service quality is unacceptable. And they add 15% tip automatically, probably because if we tipped based on service then we wouldn't even give 15%. Why go here when Saravana bhavan is not too...
