We originally came here for French restaurant week but the rest of the menu looked amazing so we went with that instead! To start, we ordered a bottle of wine (they had a great selection of reds, we went with a Bordeaux), and 12 escargots. The escargots were very well prepared and the sauce was perfect! The bread served with it was very good too. I then got the scallops over orzo which were amazing. My fiance ordered duck confit, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. We ended with crème brulee and profiteroles for dessert, which were good but outshined by the rest of the meal. The ambiance, we sat on the terrace which was nicely shaded by a large tree next door and had string lights for when it got a bit dark. The inside was very nice as well and we sat at the bar with drinks before we got seated. The bartenders and waiters were all very nice and spoke French which was great. There were also a few regulars there which is a good sign for a bit pricier of a restaurant. We are definitely...
Read moreWe absolute are addicted to this restaurant. We come here almost weekly. Besides being the "go to" for my partner and me, all my friends want to come here.
The food is great and consistent. The tuna tartar, pate, escargot and caesar salad are perfect. Menu changes four times a year and each season there are favorites. The mussels, which the restaurant is known for, are great although the size and taste vary by season. Frites are superb. Main dishes are always tasty. Seafood dishes are fresh. They finally put their hamburger on the dinner menu...it's great!
Save room for dessert as they make a mean apple tarte. Wine selection is pretty broad.
Lunch is a great deal.
Management worked really hard to keep this restaurant afloat during covid, first with takeout and then by building a lovely outdoor area in front. With the weather warming, they will open the back as well. So there is plenty of seating inside and outdoors.
Without doubt, the best restaurant in Sutton Place and...
Read moreThis restaurant was a mixed bag. I thought the food was very good. However, in my opinion, the service was poor for a restaurant in this price point. Part of the problem was rooted in how crowded it was this Saturday night. The crowd make the check in process chaotic. Getting a drink at the bar was slow. Then the service at the table was poor. At our table, a guest had to ask for water 3 times and it took about 25 minutes to get that water. Once we sat down, getting drinks from the bar was a lengthy process also. I get that it was very busy, but they seemed to have plenty of wait staff. The service improved substantially towards the very end of our meal when many guests had left and the restaurant was half empty. I imagine the service might be better when the restaurant isn't so busy. Since the weather was awful, nobody was eating outside. However, the food...
