I recently visited Thai Heritage Bodywork and had a massage with Grace. While there were positive aspects, I did have a significant issue with the Ashiatsu massage.
Grace was clearly skilled in Thai massage techniques, and the deep tissue work on my legs and back was excellent. However, during the Ashiatsu portion (where the therapist walks on your back), a sheet of cloth was placed between my back and her feet. This created uncomfortable friction and detracted from the experience. I felt it hindered the therapeutic benefit and the authentic feel of Ashiatsu.
The rest of the massage, which involved oil massage, was enjoyable. The room was nicely decorated, although there was some noise from the A/C.
Overall, I'm conflicted about recommending this place. If you're looking for a strong deep tissue massage, Grace is skilled. However, if you're seeking an authentic Ashiatsu experience, you might be disappointed by the use...
Read moreLordy lord if you want amazing authentic Thai massage look no further than Thai Heritage. They are so very skilled in either traditional table massage or my personal fave Ashiatsu back walking. Best in NYC and a game changer for sure.
I’ve been seeking out quality Thai massage wherever I go for 13 years, mostly on the West Coast and all over Asia. This place is as good as it gets. I had a couple bad injuries years ago that lingered but Thai massage helped works that out a lot. It’s the best sports relief or if you want to refresh your body really nothing beats a good Thai massage.
Thai Heritage is so friendly and had great communication. Just tell them what style you want or ask what they recommend and then don’t be shy about adjusting strength. I always go 90min Thai Combo massage and leave feeling years and pounds lighter on my toes! You will too, just don’t thank me. Thank Thailand....

When I walked into Thai Heritage Bodywork, I told Yossaratch that I needed her to hurt me. I was looking for an Ashiatsu massage with a lot of pressure. She told me I had come to the strongest woman in New York and SHE WASN'T LYING. My 90 minute massage was life changing. I can tell that I'm going to be sore tomorrow and that means she did her job.
I'm going back in 2 weeks for another session. Safe to say I have found my new spot in Manhattan for Thai barefoot/Ashiatsu massage. I can't recommend this spot enough.
Oh, and I forgot to mention they took me as a last minute walk in. If I could give more than 5...
