Read moreTo be honest, the food was really good, and this rating is not about the food, but rather about an unpleasant eating experience.
The news was very political tonight, and all of the TVs were on the same channel. I really did not want to watch it, and asked the lady behind the cash register if she could turn off or change the channel on at least one of the TVs so it wouldn't be in my face, and she said, "Sure, just ask the mashgiach." And I did... and he refused. I asked him why not, and he said, "We're closing soon." I frankly didn't see what that had to do with it (later on I found out it was a simple switch and not particularly time consuming), but he wouldn't budge. A few minutes into eating, I got really fed up with the political news being in my face, so I got up and started fiddling with the TV to turn it off. The mashgiach noticed, and then told me I wasn't allowed. I stated I was simply trying to help him close faster, to which he replied, "This isn't your restaraunt."
Ah, so there it is. It was never really about closing soon. What was it about? A need to assert power? To shove his own political views in my face?
Frankly, I don't really care. This isn't how you treat your customers, neither the lying nor the unpleasantness. This should have, and could have, been quite a simple request to fulfill, but for whatever reason, this man decided to be difficult. Along with rushing me and my friends to eat our food, this man completely ruined the atmosphere.
As I said earlier, the food was actually very good. But until you teach your mashgiach how to behave, or get a new one, I cannot budge on...
Read moreAlways loved the pizza here until last week. Ordered two slices and the spanish guy takes them, puts them on a plate to heat and then bends down twith the slices and proceeds to sneeze . Since my pizza was right where he just sneezed,I promptly Left the place. Absolutely disgusting they just lost a good customer as I ate lunch there three times a week its a shame because I really like their pizza but I dont like it sneezed on. Also, why cant the guy making pizzas wear rubber gloves? He sticks his bare hands into vat of mozzarella cheese and puts on crust with bare hands would be a lot more sanitary to wear gloves. Addendum:. Went back a year later. Two guys making pizza, both sticking bare hands into vat of mozzarella cheese. One of these men had disgustingly long fingernails so you can only imagine the cheese collecting under his nails and then him scraping it off his inner nail onto the pizza. Probably the most disgusting thing ever scene in a restaurant. This is inexcusable because the pizza makers could easily wear rubber gloves like they do in other nyc pizzerias. Shame, because the pizza is very tasty but...
