Not sure what all the complaints are about. It's a thrift store selling used items. As the motto goes, "one man's trash is another's treasure", so be prepared to dig through trash. Yes, it is over packed, crowded, and dirty. But that is the charm of it. This is no housing works or goodwill, it is a true barebones thrift shop and since it is the last one in western Queens it gets a lot of foot traffic. At the front of the store is where they have books, records, and DVDs. Then on the right side there are paintings, housewares, furniture, electronics, and children's items. On the left side there is clothing and shoes. This place also takes donations in the garage area to the left of the store. I usually buy books and records here. Paperback books are no more than a $1, while hard cover can be $3. What the staff do for pricing is look at the original price of the book and move the decimal point to the left. So, a $25 dollar book becomes $2.50. I am not sure about how they price other items, but they are low enough for most people in the community to afford. Do remember that your proceeds go to fund charity and recovery programs.

This place is my retail therapy happy place. As of March 2025, they've reorganized the store and improved the layout, giving you more aisle space to move through the racks. I love finding glassware and plates and bowls here, most times for $1-3 each, some of the lowest prices I've found throughout the city. The clothing is low-to-moderately priced, but if you grab an item that's color coded for 50% on a given day, you can score some deals! There is no fitting room, so if you intend on thrifting clothes, come in leggings and thinner tops so you can try on over what you're wearing that day for a general fit check. The store technically closes at 7pm, but they will start ushering people out around 6:40pm. Come and prepare to spend at least 30-40 minutes if you're serious about finding a treasure of the day :)

This is the worst salvation army I ever donated. I did in the past donating a TV. I had to go in person with a heavy plasma TV because they don't care about even answering the phone. There is no-one to help you over there. It's like you are asking a favor. Im calling again to drop off another TV but after pressing all the options the call just drop. I been donating a lot of things where I have a storage in Newark, NJ and the Salvation Army there has a parking and always a person helping you to drop things. In this case was my home TV in use because I got another one. I donated the first TV more than 2 years ago and I thought that situation was due to pandemic, but looks like still the same. I hope they can fix that.

I went shopping Saturday, and while I was going through the isles on the shirts, I almost slipped on a bunch of hangers. So I brushed them away under the hanged clothes with my foot, clearing the pass way so no one will accidentally slip on them. The Working lady (Carmen) in front of me suddenly said ā€œThats not helping mamā€™ā€ but since I went back immediately to my shopping I didn’t noticed she was speaking to me. Than she stood across from me and said once again loudly ā€œā€˜mam thats not helping, you kicking it, is not helpingā€ Now that really upset me, and my mistake for responding rudely but i’ll explain why it upset me, I said ā€œFunny, I didn’t came to help, but to shopā€ with that she left angrily saying how disgusting my attitude was. Now for the reason I got really upset was that I have worked in costumer service, as a hostess, waitress, cashier and retail. So I have dealt with many many people. If you know, you know. So whenever I go shopping I always pick up after myself, hang the barely-hanging-by-one-shoulder-shirt back, and have never once heard a thank you back. But it takes one time, I don’t feel like picking 7 hangers on the floor, that I didn’t even dropped, made me slip….I get to be treated like a ā€˜disgusting’ costumer. Its not a very nice experience, you can not be talking to people like you own the place. Have respect for others, people came to do some shopping...

This review is not toward the Salvation Army down the street. This review is toward the Thrift Store with the clothes outside. DO NOT GO HERE! I came to drop off clothes on New Years Eve (last day to donate for 2016). A Hispanic man was kind enough to help me get my large bags of clothes and shoes from my car to the store. When I asked for a receipt, however, he replied "We have no more paper." HUH? I spoke to my personal tax professional prior to coming t the store and I told from him that as long as my clothes/shows were donated by 12/31/16, I'm eligible for a tax deduction. Well, I went back two weeks later (after the blizzard) and asked for a receipt. When I arrived, I was greeted by an Indian who did not know what was going on. I simply told her I was here for a receipt, as I came few weeks prior to donate items. The lady told me "We don't give receipts". WHAT?!? I then asked to speak to a manager. I was then brought to Lourdes (the wife of the Hispanic man that first helped me). She told me she needed to take my name and number down so she could call me when she got the receipts from her accountant. BULL!!! It's now been three weeks since that incident and I've yet to receive a phone call. I will never donate or set foot in that place again. I've reported them to the BBB and posted this review as a warning to everyone who desires to donate. DO...

The worst thrift store ever !!!People there don't care about customers.Enen thought I like this store in others locations of the city ,but there ...I felt abusive. Where is clothes for kids they leave always so many shopping strollers for no one to pass, they totally keep this store unorganized! If u find a bag for the color tag 99 cent they don't sell it like that ,it's their regulations! The cashier is very rude and impolite ,u are just a trash for her !I will tell you yesterday was just a Wednesday, and with color teg for 99 cent ,in all store I found just 4!And I'm professional thrift shopper .You should just seethe pale of the bikes they did in the middle of the store, not wisely stored,a pale,I'm pregnant and almost killed myself there !!!And it's not the first time like that in the store , employees don't really care if the clothes are on the floor with hangers ,it's impossible to pass .Very rude and the worst army salvation store ever !!!You feel there like inside donation box on the road !And employers with their attitude ,come on in the middle they just leave brooms and dust pans, and plus I was with baby stroller and my son ,it was almost impossible challenge to walk through!!!I want to say ,I went to many army salvation stores in the strates in the NYC Woodside...
