Vitelio's Marketplace (Key Food) — Local services in New York

I hate to do this, but I've been treated rudely on so many occasions at Vitelio's on Woodward; saying hi to everyone and being polite despite them ignoring the line order and ignoring paying customers in order to help their friends first, that after 2 years of their attitude I have to write an honest review. This is the rudest business I have encountered in a long time. Not only don't they care about the line order but staff will ignore you when you're waiting (cause they're having an incredibly important conversation) and then hover and start to arrange the candy rack because suddenly that's really important to do right next to you when you're putting in your atm code. In addition, their produce is rotten and overpriced, and the place is dirty AF. I used to go in just for emergencies but they've gotten so rude it's inolerable. Do your self a favor and walk a couple of extra blocks to Fresh Pond Road where there are some great family businesses who appreciate their loyal customers. This is a lovely neighborhood where everyone appreciates each other and is loyal to each other's businesses. I hope the management does some training...

I absolutely adore this place. It's a solid place to get groceries, they have a nice lil beer selection and their fruits are pretty solid.

I'm writing a review because I had a really positive experience with the staff. I had lost my high school class ring here, came back THREE WEEKS LATER and it was safe and sound, waiting for me with the manager. Really changed how I feel about trusting strangers. Thank yall for being beautiful human beings.

One thing I will say, there is one person who works there and tends to rush me along when I am checking out closer to closing on the weekends, but she is pretty funny (and I can empathize with wanting to get home after a long shift), so I don't mind...

Don’t buy the produce. It isn’t fresh. Also, they show sale items as one price on the shelf but at the register it rings up at a higher price. I’ve had this happen twice. When I pointed out the discrepancy I was told I needed to buy more to get the sale price. Also, cashiers are abrasive and not customer friendly. Even though this market is a block away I go to places further away just to avoid the dishonest pricing and rude cashiers.
