Walgreens — Local services in New York

The pharmacy here is the absolute worst. The lines always have 3-4 people waiting which isn’t terrible except you’re waiting longer than 15 minutes just to pick up a prescription. They never seem to answer the phone especially when you’re put on hold for 20 minutes. So you end up driving to the location because no one is picking up the phone, wait on line for 10-15 minutes and then if you’re lucky, you get to pick up your prescription. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and they’ll pick up the phone and you ask if your refill is ready but they say they need to call the doctor and four days pass...and they said they’ll call them right away. I have had very little problems with this pharmacy and it has been my go to place for some time now; maybe 5 years. staff know who i am when i come in and for the most part my scripts are ready. i also don't just show up to pick them up; i receive a text msg when ready so this works very well for me. i can buy a few small items and pay by pharmacy as well.

my negatives: i did once get a smirk, or dirty look upon picking up a medication that apparently the pharmacy Tech, a middle aged Indian woman, did not agree with which i found unprofessional. This would require further training. People need medications and do not need judgments from staff who are paid...

Pharmacy staff is very rude. I called to confirm something because when I called the other day the staff told me one thing and when I called today to check the automatic system it told me a different answer/information. So I talked to one of the pharmacy staff and she was very rude. I told her I just wanted to confirm because I was given two different information and she kept telling me that “I spoke to you already yesterday...” and was very rude.
