I had both the worst and best service I’ve ever had in a yarn store- the skill level and ability of the staff varies wildly. One staffer was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and was very helpful in helping me find the right yarn for my project. Unfortunately, she was already primarily occupied with assisting customer with her needlework, so the second staffer sighed and deigned to help me as well. This second staffer was primarily concerned with her online dating profile, and struggled with the products due to her long manicure. She was also discussing her online dating activities while assisting other customers, and became quite condescending when answering basic stock questions. Were it not for the first employee helping me with my needs, I would have walked out and ordered online instead in order to avoid the unpleasant, unhelpful shopping experience from the second. This new knitting store is a gem! What a great addition to the knitting scene and the neighborhood. Kiana & Elizabeth will guide you through the immense collection of sustainable products. Wow wow wow! I was smiling (beneath my mask!) the whole time I was in this gorgeous shop. Not only are the products stellar, but for me, it's really the people that make it special. Elizabeth helped choose a new pattern to get me back on the knit wagon, and Kiana seamlessly made the experience a breeze. The best shop you’ll ever visit! Small but mighty, West Village Knit and Needle is woman owned by the most wonderful, kindest and incredibly talented lady! You’ll also find the sweetest, most helpful staff! I have been coming here for years for needlepoint supplies and professional needlepoint finishing services. I love that the store offers both needlepoint and knitting so I can also shop for my mother who loves to knit!
