I came to this shop in order to buy a new pair of inline skates. I wanted the Bauer ones, but after trying and fitting advice from the shop team, I finally bought Alkali, which was a brand I was not aware of. The customer service of the shop team was awesome, I never felt such a feeling as a customer before. I was primarly in contact with Tony which was one of the best seller I met all kind of shop included. I was in contact with another guy too (whose I forgot the name, sorry) which was great too, so it seems like the whole team is great: very good communication with emails several weeks before coming in the shop (I was in NYC only for a week) the guys here take their time for fitting, advice, etc... And I was here on Saturday, with a lot of people in the shop! they try to order in a very short time if size or model is not in stock
For summarize: for sure I would advice the shop to my mates going to NYC. Pros: great customer service great fitting knowledge near the Flat Iron building (Good for a tourist as me :-) )
Cons: little shop with little stock and not a big variety of skates (at least for roller hockey). But the ones they sell, they know it very well: I prefer this to a greater variety of skates with seller not knowing it a bit more expensive than the internet stores, but imho trying and good...
Read moreI came in because I felt like the alignment on my skate wasnât quite right- without much explanation, besides saying my blade didnât feel in the right spot, the guy there was able to pin point exactly what I had been feeling on the ice. He first had me stand on the insole by itself to check the boot size for possible problems and then checked the condition of the boot as well as check that the laces were indeed Edea laces. He had me put both boots on and stand normally to see the alignment and immediately recommended to move the just heel end of the blade over, which I also thought needed to be done. He also recommended replacing the current screws because the ones in there were not the correct ones for the type of holes they were in. He changed them out on both boots and realigned the heel and today when I skated, it felt absolutely perfect. I appreciate the care and time they took into helping me and I could tell they knew what they were doing, which made me feel very comfortable! Photos are of the...
Read moreExcellent full service by folks who know their stuff and only carry good quality brands, none of the cheap ones you find at some big box retailers. That's what I had and made my skating coach's heart hurt. I came for female beginner ice figure skates. It's at least 1-1.5 hours and several hundred dollars. I called first because I didn't have an appointment but really wanted skates before my next lesson. Alvin said I can come as a walk-in, but they're fully booked, so I should be prepared to wait. I drove the hour and, to my delight, Kyle saw me within 20 mins. She spent AS MUCH TIME as I needed, no upselling, no gimmicks. It was my choice all the way. Friendly chat was a bonus.
I chose to purchase something that day, instead of getting something online or waiting for them to order something else. Purchase includes custom fitting, molding, and permanent setting of the blade. They also do sharpening if needed.
I highly...
