BOBBY spot nuvo CAFE — Restaurant in New York

I've went here 3 times but unfortunately won't be back for another visit. The first time I went there, it was recommended by my coworkers. Ordered a chicken soup and it was delicious. I couldn't wait to go back. The second time I ordered online but I had to walk over there because 45 mins later and after 25 mins of calling, apparently they didn't receive my order and the phone number was incorrect on the menu (one of the many things incorrect on the menu). Gladly, Bobby was there to quickly prepare my order and send me on my way with my chicken and cheese quesadilla, which was great. Although, I did have to walk back to get my sour cream and salsa that was supposed to came with it. This last time I called and ordered a tuna salad (sandwich) which states it comes on whole wheat Ciabatta with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, herb mayo and cheddar cheese for 4.99. What I received was tuna with herb mayo and carrots that were diced into the tuna and lettuce on whole wheat slice bread. I walked to pick up my order just to find out that I was being charged 6.99 for this $4.99 sandwich. It was very unfortunate that the woman behind the counter has no interest in my concerns but quick to excuse every reason I was upset such as "We have a sign about the raised prices in front of the register." & "We dont carry the whole wheat ciabatta bread anymore." Extremely rude staff and owner! Who wants to support a business owner who is rude!

Mind you, I work around the corner and visit this place often. Bobby knows me not by name but by face!

I asked to use the bathroom and the “family member” said smartly “it’s only for paying customers”. Granted this is your policy (no sign visible) - the owner “Bobby” could’ve turned this situation around. He wouldn’t look me in my eye, stood there with a smirk on his face. I said I come here all the time and was going to order after I wash my hands and use the restroom. She said “no“. Now the woman that said this was related to the owner! I know because I’ve heard her conversations before and she definitely doesn’t work there on a regular basis. I just walked out!

The bathroom is always dirty anyway, I just wanted to wash my hands and use the bathroom quickly.

I can’t beliebe Bobby just let her say that instead of saying “it’s ok, she can use the restroom, next time if you can order first that is our policy”. He could’ve even politely said “I’m sorry”. They were just soooo damn rude! Learn some damn customer service and learn how to speak to your customers!

I just walked away and will never step foot in here again and urge others not to support any owner that allows staff to speak rudely like that. He definitely could’ve turned the situation around but...

Go somewhere else unless you want sub-par food and rude service. My experience included stale food, and an extremely rude person behind the register who was unwilling to answer my question about the food and gave me the impression that he frankly didn’t care about his customers.

I find it very suspicious that the only recent positive reviews are in broken English. Probably the owner or the guy behind the counter.

I was also taken aback to find that there was chicken (or some other unknown meat) in the “vegetarian” soup even though it’s not listed as an ingredient. I found out the hard way and I wasn’t going to bother writing a review until I noticed another patron (or 2) had a similar experience. This is obviously a problem and it is probably indicative of a much bigger problem.

I hope the health department pays them a visit before someone dies from a food allergy.

If the food doesn’t kill you the service will make you want kill yourself. Wish I had read the reviews on this place before I ever...
