You know when you are so traumatized by an experience, you can’t get to writing the review because you don’t want to have to think about it anymore and re-experience what you just dealt with? That’s been me lol.
I stayed here for one weekend (Thursday-Sunday) to visit friends. After the first night, I woke up with several bites on my foot that matched what bug bites looked like. We checked with multiple doctors who also agreed. I immediately called the hotel front desk to let them know of my concern and they moved me to a new room. What was upsetting is the way they handled this moving forward.
They said they were going to have an inspection done immediately. I asked to be in the loop as soon as they knew results because with our minimal time here, this was causing me to fear bringing anything into my friends homes.
The manager continued to ignore me and dodge my questions. The woman at the front desk was absurdly rude and rolled her eyes when I asked for help. At one point the manager had told me they would provide quarters to use their laundry machines to wash all our clothing in case of bed bugs and when I asked her for them she questioned me for a while, rolled her eyes, and reluctantly handed some over.
They wouldn’t give me an answer to what was found and our entire trip we spent in fear. On the last day, I asked for the manager and requested to know what was on the report. He told me everything looked fine and gaslit me, but refused to tell me what more specifically was on the report and refused to show/send me any of it. SUPER sketchy.
After this horrendous experience of getting bitten, moving rooms, having to spend 2 out of our 3 days washing clothing in fear of bed bugs, not being able to spend time with those we were visiting comfortably in fear of giving them bedbugs, and then being gaslit and treated horribly by the staff, I requested compensation and the owner refused, essentially gaslighting me again claiming no proof of my experience. I am not one to usually even push or ask for things like this but I thought in this situation it was a no brainer.
That’s when it clicked to me that I didn’t think he’d seen the photos and proof I had yet of what happened to me. As he gaslit me, I asked him “have you not seen the photos of my bites??” And when he hesitantly said no, I pulled them up. He immediately had no response and decided to give me a refund of only one night. It was better than nothing, but definitely did not make up for the damage they caused. I’m still wondering what was actually on the report, and can’t believe how poorly we were treated when their sole job is hospitality. Attaching just one photo, and the most mild one for the sake of the...
Read moreMy friends and I stayed here for 6 days. I’ll try to make this review as simple but detailed as possible. Pros: Comfy room. TV came with netflix and youtube. Had free wifi for your electronics. We had a nice view of the city and very close to the subway station. They have a restaurant inside the hotel but I never got to try it. They had a cart too for any food deliveries you ordered. There’s an outdoor lounge thats open from 10am-8pm and an indoor lounge that includes bathrooms, laundry room, and a gym room. There is a microwave in the lobby that you can use to heat up any leftovers you may have. We had an early checkout and a late flight, so the staff offered to hold onto our bags for us while we explored the city a little more before it was time to head to the airport.
Cons: The rooms are pretty small. I shared a room with 2 others and in total we had 6 luggages. There wasn’t much room to store all of it. The walls are VERY thin. I could hear a woman moaning at full volume from down the hall the first 3 nights here. The bathroom is small as well but my main issue was the glass door that the tub had. It wasn’t long enough for it to cover the rest of the tub, just half of it. So the water would splash everywhere whenever someone showered. I had to angle the shower head on the hook its supposed to go on bc it pointed too far out and it would make a bigger mess throughout the bathroom. The towels had brown stains on them so bring your own. Elevators were down for a few hours and my friend and I had plans that night. We were stuck on the 6th floor and called the front desk. The man that was there notified us that the elevators are down and when we asked him how can we get out, he left us on hold and never came back. We hung up and redialed again but no answer. My friend and I decided to take the emergency stairs exit only to find out that the door on the first floor was locked. We had to climb up the 6 flight of stairs and just waited in our room. Also, my friend spilled water on the sheets so we put everything together; towels, sheets, and trash to make it easier on room service. On our way out that day, we asked the front desk to send up room service. 6-7 hours later, we come back and the piles we left were still there. We had to ask again to send room service up at around midnight and just waited awkwardly as they made our bed for us.
Overall, the hotel & staff was pretty okay. It was pretty cheap compared to other hotels in NY so you get what you paid...
Read moreThis hotel is FILTHY and they do not care!
I stayed here on May 21st, 2024 and when I stepped into my room, I unloaded my luggage and left to attend a business meeting. Upon my return, I was going to lay down on the bed when I removed the duvet cover, I saw multiple yellow stains all over the bed sheets. I called the front desk and I was told that room service was only done 24 hours in advanced and was hung up on. I called back and spoke to the supervisor Melanie. Melanie had informed me that the previous person was incorrect and that she wanted to relocate me to another room. I accepted that offer, but once I entered the new room, I checked and had the same issues! The photos attached clearly show that this hotel does not properly conduct sanitation practices according to New York State laws Public Health, Chapter 45 article 13 title 7 section 1346.
When I attempted to call and speak to Melanie again, I was hung up on 3 times before speaking to her. I went down to the lobby and asked to speak to her directly and was told she was not available. I contacted Expedia and informed them of the situation and they tried contacting the hotel to resolve the issue for me, but unfortunately after waiting for nearly 2 hours, I was told the hotel refused to grant any refunds or compensation and that they would not help any further on the matter. Expedia has some blame to as they offered me $100 gift card to use on a different hotel, but my charges were over $1,900, and Expedia recommended the hotel!
Look elsewhere, this hotel needs to be condemned for violating public safety laws....
UPDATE I received the response below from the hotel, a bunch of politically correct response with no tangible action or attempt to rectify my stay with a refund... What is the point of responding if you are not going to do anything to resolve my issue? Dodging...
