Edit: I highly suggest looking at the reviews for this business on Yelp. Others ran into the same issues as me. I didn’t even think to check their reviews over there. Ugh. They’re also now saying they noticed something wrong with the glue but still used it which could be true but why wasn’t this mentioned when I told them my lashes were falling out? Both times I have been here it has been a complete DISASTER and it makes me really sad because I love the look of their lashes so much that I was willing to travel 4 hours. I booked an appointment last week with Hannie and when my appointment was five minutes away, I received a notification that the appointment had been pushed back one hour. When I came back an hour later, Hannie still was not available so Joslyn did my lashes. I purposely did not book with her because she charges more (rightfully so- she’s an expert- but I wanted Hannie). I was charged Joslyn’s price (for a classic set instead of hybrid but it’s still more expensive than Hannie’s hybrid pricing) even though I had not booked with her. Instead of making a stink about this I just let it go but later that same day my top and bottom lashes started falling out. I read in their reviews here that if you come back within one week they will fix your lashes for free so I reached out to them and asked for an appointment to get mine fixed. The original appointment was Saturday last week and I scheduled the fix for today (Saturday). The appointment for me was made at one of their other locations with a different tech- I thought nothing of this since I told them what was going on and they scheduled the appointment for me. When I arrived today, they tried charging me to fix my lashes and were very persistent about it- almost to an oddly inspiring extent. I spoke with the techs at their Midtown location as well as with Joslyn who stated that the bottom lashes only last about a week or two- which is totally fine but they started coming off the same day they were put on and I had not touched them, washed them, etc. After this was explained to her, I was told that humidity and the weather can impact how long they last. Y’all… I paid almost $300, I just wanted the left bottom lashes and top right corner lashes to be fixed. In the end, they fixed the lashes that had come off last week and guess what…. One hour after this my lashes are falling out again LOLOLOLOL. I also found out afterwards that if you need your lashes to get fixed within the week, this does NOT include bottom lashes AND you MUST see the person who messed up the lashes and no one else.

Lin and Joslin are the only ones who actually do nice lashes here. I only get lashes done when I go on vacation and the last set I got done by Lin was IMMACULATE. And lasted through my entire vacation of ocean and pool water. I was sad when I went to book and saw she’s now at the queens location. I decided to book with Sunny since she’s also a master (and therefore more expensive) what a mistake. I showed her my lashes when Lin did them and was like I wanted that. What I got was nothing like what I showed her. It was sparse, thin, way too long. And the right eye looked completely different from the left (if you look at their Instagram this is a common problem with a lot of their techs, in Sunny’s highlight almost none of the lashes are symmetrical on both sides. Wish I would have taken note of that before I booked) never in my life has a lash tech taped one eye at a time. And I think this is what contributes to the unevenness. Sunny was very nice but I feel like she rushed through my procedure start to finish. Which btw was originally for 10:30 and they rescheduled to 2pm. She taped my eyes poorly and they burned the entire time she was lashing me. Then when I was obviously unhappy with my lashes. She said there was nothing she could do. Worst part is, I went to bed. Didn’t shower or anything to keep my lashes dry. And woke up with half of them on the pillow. The pic attached is 24 hours after I did my lashes…. Unacceptable. I didn’t complain or go back bc I’m not confident that they could fix them and make me happy and these are my vacation lashes. I literally got my lashes on Thursday and on Sunday paid to take them out and have them redone somewhere else that was way better. I do think the store is super cute and clean and the front desk people are super nice. If you can book with Lin or Joslin, it’s worth every dollar. Unfortunately the other girls at this location don’t seem to really be skilled enough for the price you pay. I won’t be back unless Lin returns to this location.

My first experience was great. I had Joslin did my lashes and I loved them. It was my first time getting lash extensions. My eyes are sensitive and I have an eye condition where I rapidly blink uncontrollably. I obviously can’t control it but Joslin helped me relax. When I got lash refills, Joslin isn’t available so I had to book through other lash techs. More specifically Hannie and Wen. After a couple of visits of getting refills I completely stopped going. They were very annoyed with my blinking as if I could control it. And I could sense their frustration which made my condition worse. When they were doing other people’s lashes next to me, I could clearly hear them talking about me in their language as if I couldn’t tell they were talking about me. They would stop talking after my blinking started to stop, which made it very obvious. My last lash refill was with Wen and that is the last time I will ever give money to this establishment. The same thing happened where I couldn’t control my blinking and they would talk about me in their own language to each other right in front of me. Mind you, I always tipped because I knew it was difficult to do my lashes. I couldn’t take the violation anymore and switched to clusters instead, which worked out in the end because it saved me a lot of money. I’m Asian and I want to support this business and give more stars, but I hated the experience. If anyone does decide to get their lashes done here, I recommend Joslin if anyone. She’s the only one who was professional with me

I recently left a bad review because of how their customer service handled a refill situation. I was very sad because I have been with them since they opened. BUT both the receptionist and Joslin reached out to me to follow up on everything. I did not expect that at all. Specially knowing how busy Joslin is, I really appreciate the effort. Really made me feel valued and that she cares.

For the lashes: I really do love wink bar. Ive been to many other places but NOTHING compares. Their lashes are the most soft/natural and their techniques are also the best not just in the city but like even better than the ones I’ve done in London and Asia. I saw a lot of reviews abt techs. I think it’s kinda like doing nails or hair. You got to find your person. I’ve started with Joslin. she’s soooo awesome and speedy but books out so fast! So I branched out and come to also love many other techs! Every tech has their “style.” some will chitchat with you and others won’t. the more you do your lashes with a tech theyll know what you like and what style fits you! I got recommended bottom lashes and honesty I do bottom lashes now way more than my top. On waiting time, sometimes you do have to wait a bit but not all the times. I’m always very accommodating bc it’s not the techs fault more likely the person before was late. Honeslty the situation kinda sucks, but we’re all human and nyc traffic sucks. Like if I was 15mins late bc the Q wasn’t running do I want them to still take me or cancel and deduct my booking fees? It’s just a tough situation. All in all, I am fine waiting for a bit once now and then and I genuinely don’t think you can find a better lash place than here...
