Last night was a very distasteful experience after eating there for years, while bringing family and friends, and supporting that establishment. I ordered 3 regular slices and 1 buffalo slice (the last one they had) for my son (5) and I. I then ordered 2 pepperoni slices to go for my son and requested a BOX for the slices, since the brown bag they placed it in had an oil leakage the moment they handed it to me. After placing the 2 slices in the box, they guys behind the counter made a loud announcement for everyone including myself to hear, by telling me that the little box are for 3+ slices. As if I didn’t already purchased 4 slices moments before purchasing 2 more slices, spending over $24. They watched my son and I eating our slices and had the audacity to fix their mouths to tell me some bs. We were also there the night before (Halloween night) and I spent about $16. That was one of our favorite pizza places since he started growing teeth in his mouth and that was about 5 years ago. As a big foodie there are so many better pizza places that aren’t overpriced with rough crispy bottoms. I used to order large pies with different toppings to go and take it back to the Bronx. I will NEVER step foot in that establishment again‼️The only thing that held me back from putting them in their places is the fact that I had a blunt to block out any negativity including my whining son. They definitely would’ve heard my mouth if I wasn’t relaxed 🧘🏽. I’ve always greeted them with respect and for some odd reason they always seemed to be snobbish, but will give their fair skinned customers the upmost respect no matter how nasty some are, cool. A small ssa PIZZA BOX was the...
Read moreOne thing you can rely on in NY is that you'll be able to walk in basically anywhere and get decent pizza. Here is exhibit A. For under $4, got a huge slice of pizza piping hot and a fountain drink.
Of note, the fountain soda machine was not working. Well, the sodas were coming out flat. There was some sort discussion about maybe fixing it but then they just said to pay the difference and get a bottle instead? Less than $1 more for the upcharge for a bottle.
They offer the standard thin NY pizzas as well as the thicker squares slices here - there's some good variety, I saw some with chicken and broccoli, hawaiian, meat lover's. I got a white pizza which had a standard cheese blend and then pockets of a soft creamy cheese on top - not sure exactly what it was but it was nice. Pizza was a little on the greasy side but mostly my complaint about that slice was that the lack of sauce did make it a little bland. But that was a personal choice I made by ordering the white so not really their fault.
The workers are pretty friendly and it's clear that they're well established in the community. Saw the workers greet several regulars by name and chit chat a little. It's a nice environment. Rather clean too, and they clear away the trays immediately after someone leaves instead of letting them just sit there. There's also some tables outside where you can sit and enjoy...
