Zeno Nail Bar — Local services in New York

Disappointing- READ IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE NAILS:

So I decided to treat myself to a manicure and pedicure, signature, regular gel. I wanted the following design as my birthday is coming and this would match my outfit. My reason for REGULAR polish is because my old salon convinced me to do gel, and after 5 months my nails cracked, my nail beds were exposed, and my nails have since struggled to grow (see the picture for reference- this is all they could grow since March 2025). Gel polish ruined my nails and I wanted to come here because they seemed competent enough to strengthen them and bring them back.

So I check in for my appointment and the girl at the front was nice, I showed her what I wanted (literally lines) and she tells me they cannot do that. I asked why, and she said they don’t do designs for regular polish. I found this strange, my old salons back in my hometown out of state always did regular polish designs. I explained my experience with my previous salon, and she said she’d speak to the owner. I explained myself twice. I was fine with the $20 design fee.

The owner came angry at me, accusing me of not being able to understand why I needed to get the gel polish. I told her I didn’t want to hear the explanation again, because no one was trying to work with my nails. I cannot risk them again, they were bleeding and in pain for weeks. She refused to listen to me and kept explaining to me that she knew better. No she didn’t. Then she went to bad mouth me with the other nail technicians. She stopped when I said I could hear her talking about how “dumb” I am and how “difficult”.

Anyways, don’t waste your time here. The nail technicians will force you to do what THEY want. Plus, they were entirely empty on the first Sunday of the summer. Explain that to me? I won’t trust a place like this. I was so open to becoming a new and loyal customer. The owner is arrogant and incompetent as she hired nail technicians who cannot work with regular polish, or are unable to keep your nails HEALTHY.

This is hands-down the best nail salon I've been to in Manhattan. The spot is so clean and comfortable. They offered me tea as soon as I entered and there was such a relaxed and welcoming energy by the staff.
