Burlington — Local services in Newport

I had a stellar experience at Burlington. There was such an extensive inventory of merchandise and the prices were incredible. I had no intention to spend as much as I did, but there were too many good deals to pass up. Great name brand clothing for men and women, and the prices on pet accessories and treats were one of the best I have seen.

Additionally, I would like to acknowledge the extremely high quality of service I received when checking out at the cash register. Kelly was a dream to interact with. She was so friendly, so genuine, and just radiated great energy. Being blessed to have her as my cashier was definitely the icing on the cake for this shopping trip. She was so easy and fun to talk with and she made me feel valued as a customer. I find it rare these days to receive excellent customer service, so it was refreshing to have that experience with Kelly.

This was the first time I have been to Burlington in years, but I will definitely be returning, and hopefully Kelly is still there. Burlington, do what you need to do to value and hold on to employees like that, because...

No more 'friends and family' discount for employees. So.. since they wanna be greedy, they can keep all the stuff I would've bought if I could still get a little discount. Honestly, they need to go out of business anyway. The quality of their inventory has gone to crap. Mostly cheap, off-brand polyester (aka plastic) junk that will fall apart, end up in landfills, and eventually in rivers, oceans, and our own bodies. Plus, the stuff that doesn't ever sell- they put it in the dumpster instead of donating it. Also, the store is just a mess. Nothing is in order from sizes to categories, and it looks like a little tornado ran through there. It's really not worth shopping there on the off chance you might find one decent thing after digging through a haystack of literal...

If you are BLACK please , do not spend your money here. I watched this older white security guard let everyone else out the door , but when it came to me , which I am a black women. He stopped me and asked me how many items did I have, circled my receipt for no apparent reason. When I asked other customers that came out of the store they told me he DID NOT circle their receipt. I literally came in for two items. Burlington is one of my favorite spots to shop at and to be profiled the way that I was , was completely unacceptable. Black folks don’t even bother shopping here. If you wanna get profiled be my guest. This happened today around 6:21PM. Talk to that security guard about his racist vibes. Definitely did not...
