Ross Dress for Less — Local services in Newport

Staff yesterday manager didn't hear name but treated me and my fifteen year old daughter like we were garbage I have never felt so belittled in my life before then I loved the store .... She was frustrated and took it out in us because she was short staffed and having a bad day the other woman working was blonde and was very sweet and said she would take care of us and I guess they don't have a supervisor so she called the cops on us literally just for literally saying we got it were good we don't need ur help ... Basically like we got it from here now you don't have to stick around and watch us and she literally just blew up on us and called the cops on us so we waited around and the cops told us we had to leave so 6 to $700 worth of stuff in their cart... I'm sure corporate would love to know that that she just literally let us leave with nothing wrong nothing happening just because she was frustrated and her ego was hurt and she wanted to take it out on somebody what happened to customer satisfaction and the customers always right anyways this woman is tall about 160 lb long dark brown hair and says she's the manager.... I'd love to be able to get corporate's number.... Dates this woman worked and incident was on Friday the seventh of june around six pm year 2025.... I literally don't think anyone should give them their business after that that woman should be fired she shouldn't be working there I've never had a problem like I said with any of the customers there none of them and I've never had a problem with any of the staff there they've always been nice and courteous but this woman she just I can't even explain to you like I was...

Extremely disappointed and shocked by the negligence and attitude at this store.

My child slipped on a ‘wet floor’ sign that was carelessly lying flat on the floor, making it a hazard instead of a warning. Instead of helping or showing concern, a young cashier smirked and told us we should have walked around it — as if it’s normal to leave a slippery plastic sign in the middle of the floor for people to trip on.

Another young employee just wandered around, did absolutely nothing, and didn’t even attempt to fix the sign. Only one older woman at the register had the decency to ask if my child was okay.

This level of negligence and lack of basic empathy is completely unacceptable. A store has a responsibility to keep its premises safe — and to train its employees to respond appropriately when someone gets hurt.

I will not be returning to this location, and I sincerely hope the management takes this seriously before someone else gets injured — possibly worse...

I really enjoy Ross because they have a wide variety of items at low cost. You can pretty much find anything in there I really don't enjoy their clothing selection because a lot of it seems cheap to me. I do like their health and beauty section because they have a lot of items for cheap there that you can use. They have a better men's selection of clothing than they do women's so I feel like it's more for men than women because I don't really find much in there when I go because the clothing for women like I said is kind of cheaply made. They have shoes for women and men they have a nice baby children's selection of clothing and items they have a small selection of pet things. They have some art supplies but you're better off going to Michael's for that because they're very overpriced on those. I really enjoy their home decor although they...
