I was in Newport for a cruise stop and purchased some fudge.
The fellow in the shop had said it would be stable for about 4 weeks - plenty of time for me to get home 2 weeks later.
I just arrived home and one of them has mould growing on it.
I’ve regularly gotten fudge on trips from other locations and haven’t had an issue before. I made sure to keep it out of the sun, and it was on my carry-on for the flight home.
I hadn’t checked them the last few days as they seemed alright before, and so I’d packed my bag ahead of time.
The other 2, I purchased seem to be ok, but it was rather disappointing to open my bags and pull out presents for people, and find mould growing on one of the packages.

Read moreI've been to a lot of fudge stores up and down the East Coast and Newport Fudgery has to be the best of them all. Their fudge is chewy, the texture is smooth, and it melts on your tongue. I'm not a huge fan of taffy but I'm always craving theirs. The people behind the counter are very helpful and friendly.
