Hi i’ve been a member at this gym in lincolnwood for years i usually come in the morning and the staff is very friendly and helpful “ honest and respectful (DAVID “ DREW” LEONA MILLER) Some time ago there started being issues with breaking in the mens locker room I had a multiple things stolen when I used the lock.including my $1200 Canada goose jacket in 2022 which was given by my wife on my birthday gift.it was locked up in the locker when it was stolen. The stuff do they best but they couldn’t monitor the locker room and mens bathroom which is understandable’ I started only bringing my car keys in a pouch but I been worried about them being stolen also so management at this location told me to leave my keys up front behind the desk when ever I went. I have been doing this for a long time. On 9/26/2024 as I was leaving and saying bye to the staff who had kept my keys in a pouch the new manager (STEVEN) Interrupt me said very rude & with a really bad attitude that i was not allowed to leave stuff with the staff. and said it was a safety issue and they could not be liable for my items, even though they require members to leave ID or keys with the staff at the desk when checking out equipment like the barbless pads I explained the situation to (STEVEN) the new manager I said I didn’t want any problems all I said I don’t want my keys to go stolen again. after explaining that previous management had been the one to encourage me to do this he began to argue and very bad attitude with me like this is not a gym he acted like this is a kindergarten and he is a teacher making his own bylaws and dismiss my concern I ask him if there is a policy was in writing somewhere so I could reference it. He printed out my contract and highlighted a vague section about club rules which mentioned nothing about leaving belongings with the staff behind the desk. He told me that I had to leave my items in the locker room if I don’t to carry them and to just report it if they got stolen like I said I been coming for years to this gym with no issues whatsoever. And many of my friends and family members they had the same issue with their manager (STEVEN) he is making his own bylaws. Reprimanding them for any small thing he doesn’t like with no reason or proof that it’s a corporate policy as he claims Its so sad to have this kind of behavior from the manager. One more thing to make sure that he is on safe side he complained on my planet fitness account that I threatened him that it’s going to cost him his job ( LYES) all I said i will make sure that I make a phone call to corporate office to make sure what policies are you talking is true. But unfortunately I can’t get a hold of it. And i am posting the picture of him complaining about the issue. I am really hoping that this issue will resolve quickly (M M ALI) member ship ID#979832108 Unfortunately I can’t upload the copy of his complaining about me but i do have a copy with me i can...
Read moreI signed up with Planet Fitness on 1/28/16. The sales clerk, Kathy told me that they are offering the black card for $19.99 per month, with no 12-month commitment and no $58 cancellation fee. So I signed up for it. When I got home I reviewed the contract and on sentence # 2 it said, “this membership has a 12 month minimum term”. On sentence # 7 it said, “if your membership has a minimum term and you wish to cancel there is a $58 buyout fee”. I was flabbergasted. On 1/29/16 I called and asked them to send me an updated contract. The clerk explained to me that they cannot do that. So on 1/30/16 I asked to speak to a manger to help resolve this issue. No one got back to me for nine days. So on 2/9/16 I called again and asked to speak to a manger. Vanity called me back within a few minutes. Vanity was rude and interrupted me several times. I asked her why is it that no one got back to me? Waiting for nine days is not reasonable and I was more than patient. She told me that I did not request to speak to a manger and that I was a liar!!! Ok so I have nothing better to do than make things up right? I then moved on to my issue. Vanity just argued with me and was confrontational. I simply asked for her to send me an updated contract or written documentation that states I do not have a 12-month commitment. I think that is pretty reasonable right? Well for Vanity it was not. Vanity said, “the computer system states that you do not have a 12 month contract”. I asked if they could send any form of documentation? Vanity said in a condescending and belligerent tone “sir I am not going to repeat myself over and over again. If you wish to cancel your membership or lower it to the $10 per month plan I can help do that for you. I can not send you any documentation”.. She also said she has the right as a manager to cancel my membership. I was flabbergasted and stunned. All I wanted to do is resolve this very simple matter. I told her that I was going to write an online review about this incident because she did not want to do anything proactive to resolve my issue. Vanity said “that is fine because I will write a short review about you also” and then boom she hung up the phone on me. To the person who owns this particular franchise, do you condone this type of behavior? I am simply asking you to send me an updated contract with the agreed upon terms or other written documentation. What is so unreasonable about that? To anyone who is thinking about joining this particular location, think twice. If you try to resolve your issues with the general manager Vanity she will just bully you and then...
Read more4/2/2016 - Terrible management, I asked the front desk to cancel my membership, I left thinking it was cancelled till about a month afterward which I realized there was a charge on my account for $19.99. I asked the people working there and explained my situation that I wanted to cancel it in the first place, because I guess there was a "miscommunication" and they were pretty understanding so they issued me a refund. They said it would take about 3-5 business days but its been about a 11days now which is a huge difference. (made me realize that they just lied about giving me a refund). Prior to this experience, the first time I called they directed me to corporate planet fitness (because the guy i was taking with said that it wasnt up to them to issue a refund) , and when I asked for the corporate's phone number they had no clue what it was. Which just shows how people working there are clueless to how things run in this gym; even if they didn't know is it that hard to ask someone how refunds work? Like honestly. So I did my own research which is absolutely unnecessary for a customer to do (to find the damn corporate planet fitness number). I called them and they said that it was up to the branch to issue a refund. Which I was absolutely baffled about, I have had it up to here with this location of planet fitness. I don't recommend this place. Go find other gyms to work out at. Will update this post a week from now to see if they give me my refund. Which Im starting to doubt they wont, ill probably get that refund 3 years from now at this rate. 4/20/16 No refund. They took my money and I didnt even go to their gym. didnt use the weights or anything, they said that I couldnt get a refund cause there was a fee. and that I should be lucky cause 20 dollars is less than the damn cancellation fee. But I told whoever that goddamn person in the front desk to cancel two of my memberships. She only cancelled one of them, which was ofcourse the cheaper one. I applied and cancelled my membership the day afterward. I talked to a manager today and she said that I was supposed to sign a waiver to cancel my membership, which that girl never gave me? Is it really my fault that your goddamn front desk doesnt know how to listen to a customer and know the process of cancelling a damn membership? Glad to say im never coming here again. Thanks for stealing my money. You should go use it to train your dumb...
