Wow total fail!! 1. This is so close to Chicago yet quality is like a remote small town 50 miles away from the nearest City. They simply did not compete with flavor or quality, there are simple street-side chicken places in the north side of Chicago that do so much better. Something so simple like the gravy that comes with the bucket of chicken is definitely from a can, complete lack of effort. 2. Unskilled management or ownership is clearly reflected in poor service during dinner rush. There's a very commonly known restaurant term that is crucial in rush hour service. For lunch and dinner rush almost every imaginable place has a position called the expediter, this is basically the person that helps out with service and overall effectiveness of the team. There were a lot of employees very busy doing their job but because of a lack of pre-planning no one was making things go smoothly. There was one confused customer standing around waiting for drinks and I was waiting to ask for some ketchup packets for almost four minutes as there was no one really available to provide customer service. 3. Finally let's talk about an overpriced menu. the first picture I included is a meal combo they have for $6 plus tax, which means you get a drink and then that tiny bit of rice noodles with some sauce and three shrimp and two pieces of sliced boiled egg and a few bits of chicken. I eat out at Asian restaurants and I've worked at Asian restaurants, no way did what I was served worth more than a dollar to prepare, maybe $2. If it tasted amazing or say it was a bigger portion or maybe even that it was a great presentation, then it might be said to be worth it. Alas the answer is no, The visit was a complete...
Read moreI've driven past Jollibee hundreds of times and it always slightly intrigued me. I finally got around to trying it and I can say, its nothing special. I guess its supposed to be a spattering of basic American dishes with a Filipino twist to them. Based on the reviews I've seen they're best known for their Chickenjoy and spaghetti. I tried a Hawaiian chicken sandwich, some tenders and a side order of spaghetti. The sandwich definitely did not live up to any kind of Hawaiian taste. It had grilled pineapple and bacon on it, but neither had any kind of discernable taste that complimented the chicken. The most prominent taste here was from whatever sauce they used on it. A mild letdown. The tenders were probably the best thing I had and these were just average tenders. ..and then theres the spaghetti. I'm glad I only ordered a side portion of this. This was unenjoyable. There were three different tastes to this and it was weird how they interplayed. It started off immediately with a very unpleasant burnt taste before quickly giving way to a ever so slightly sweeter tasting version of a Chef Boyardee tomato sauce before finishing with a very weird sausage taste (probably just grease from the actual bits of sausage that were in here) but it wasn't a high quality sausage. It was bizarre how these flavors came back in the same order of each bite. I never could've finished a larger portion of this. The guy in the drive thru was friendly enough. The online order process was pretty simple as well. I didn't order their main dish, the Chickenjoy (which I think is just fried chicken) but I don't feel like I need to rush back here anytime soon to...
Read moreJollibee is definitely a good choice when it comes to delicious, crispy, and juicy fried chicken. I went in here and my purpose was to order their chicken. This is a nice restaurant. It has a nice interior and is pretty spacious. It is clean and the atmosphere is nice as well. Customer service here is really great too. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. I wanted some of their chicken joy, but I also ordered their palabok because I just felt like eating it together with a piece of chicken joy, a drink, and two pieces of peach mango pie. The service is also pretty quick. As usual, the food is served hot and fresh. It was really a great satisfaction for me after having a bite of their chicken joy. I know there are a lot of chicken spots, but the chicken joy from here is definitely included in one of the best because it does taste like one of the best to me. I even regret ordering only a piece of chicken joy because one is not enough for me to satisfy my cravings. The pababok was also good. I like the thin texture of the noodles as well as the sauce, plus the meat and the shrimp. Finally, the peach mango pie, which is definitely the best pie I have ever had in my life, was just basically delicious. The crispy crust and the sweet and savory feeling of the combination of peach and mango were just perfect. It was always a great time at this restaurant. I highly recommend this comfort food restaurant! Their chicken joy is the best, as well as their...
