I want to start off by saying that this is an honest review. I know that people always believe that the dealership has friends writing reviews, but I am a real customer.
I was looking for a specific truck for a over 6 months. This would be my first "new to me vehicle" since 2009 as I hold onto my vehicles.
I went to multiple dealerships and had absolutely horrible experiences. Dealers would sneak in a ton of random and ridiculous charges when it came down to negotiations. I was so sick and tired of being lied to by salesman that I gave up for a little while looking for my new truck. If you look at my review history and look at my review for Huntley Ford, you'll understand what I mean.
I got a notification on my phone that a truck that met my specifications popped up at Ziegler GMC in lincolnwood. When I looked at the listing for the truck it was absolutely perfect and had every option that I was looking for. Reluctantly thinking that this was going to be another horrible dealership experience. I called and scheduled a time and drove down to take a look at the truck. The young lady who picked up the phone was an absolute sweetheart and answered a bunch of questions and told The sales team that I would visiting shortly to check out the vehicle.
Upon entering zeigler I was immediately greeted by Doc, one of the sales professionals at the dealership. From the get-go Doc was upbeat and friendly and took the time to answer my questions and let me do my in-depth review of the truck. Being someone that rebuilds and restores vehicles, I'm am incredibly picky about the condition of used vehicles.
I want to take a second here to branch off and just throw some praise to Doc:
Honest customer service is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Customers walk into dealerships having the notion that they're about to get beat up and taking advantage of by a salesman. This was not the feeling working with Doc.
From the get-go Doc felt like someone you could trust. And you can. Doc was absolutely incredible to work with. He was honest, straightforward and it felt like he was doing everything he could to make me feel comfortable and to get me the best possible price on my dream truck. Doc is not your typical sales person. He's a person that you immediately become friends with and trust in that he is doing everything he can to help you out. I can honestly not say enough good things about him.
Jumping back to the main review: The vibe and flow at this dealership is so incredibly different than the multiple dealerships that I went to prior trying to purchase a truck.
This dealership will forever have my business and as long as Doc is a representative he will be the first person I contact when My family and my friends are looking for a car.
Thank you, Ziegler! Thank you...
Read moreI WAS DECEIVED AND CHARGED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS EXTRA Of course, I have proof of everything Iâm about to share, in case anyone would like to see it. At ZEIGLER in LINCOLNWOOD, IL, I was deceived and charged several thousand dollars more than agreed. I paid in full for a 2022 BMW X3, which was listed on the ZEIGLER website and on CARGURUS for $34,000. I paid the full amount in person at the dealership on February 12, 2025. Later that same day, just after 9 p.m., and after completing the test drive, paperwork, and other formalities, I drove off the dealership lot with my vehicle. Not even 10 minutes had passed since I left the dealership when the CHECK ENGINE light suddenly came on. By the time I got home, I noticed that the engine cover and a fuse box cover were in the trunk, which made me think that this might have been the cause of the CHECK ENGINE light coming on. The next day, as soon as the dealership opened, I was greeted by the salesman named JERRY, who asked me to put the engine cover and fuse box cover back on. After that, he told me they couldnât repair the vehicle and that I would need to take it directly to a BMW service center under warranty, as the vehicleâs mileage and year still qualified for coverage. This seemed completely unprofessional and unethical to me, as they had intentionally cleared the CHECK ENGINE light during the test drive and were aware of a serious issue with the car, yet still sold it to me. I took the vehicle to an authorized BMW service center, and after 10 days, the diagnosis was that there was a fault with the DME (a part of BMWâs exclusive computer system) and that the repair, costing just over $7,000, would not be covered by the factory warranty due to a previous technical procedure issue. I called the dealership, and JERRY spoke with one of the managers at ZEIGLER LINCOLNWOOD, who told me they couldnât refund my money, but they would exchange the car. I agreed to this and chose another 2023 BMW X5, with much higher mileage, but listed at the same price as the previous one on both ZEIGLERâs website and CARGURUS, for just over $34,000. In other words, I only had to exchange the vehicle and accept a small difference in price, which I was willing to lose, since I was told I wouldnât get a refund. But the trap was set. They didnât honor the price listed on the ZEIGLER website or on CARGURUS. Instead, the price for me was set at over $39,000, meaning I was charged an additional $5,000. According to them, this was because the car now appeared on the CARFAX as having had a previous owner (me), and they claimed this lowered the carâs value. But was this really my problem? I paid an additional $5,000 to switch to a car I never even used, a car they sold me with a serious issue they were...

Do NOT buy pre-owned cars from this dealership!
This showroom is full of dishonest people, especially the salesman Mohammad (Moh) and his manager John. Both are professional liars and frauds. I purchased a Mercedes C300 Coupe for $25,700 just three months ago. At the time of purchase, Mohammad claimed the car had zero issues, ânew brakes,â and was âfully inspected.â He even said they had the inspection reportâbut despite my repeated requests, they never showed me any such report. Major Issues with the Car: ⢠Oil leak detected immediately after purchase. ⢠Brake problems with warning notifications on the cluster. ⢠Missing parts inside the car, which they ignored when I reported.
My Experience: ⢠On the second day of purchase I returned the car due to the problems. Mohammad pretended it was being âinspectedâ while the car just sat parked untouched inside for 4 hours. When I confronted him, he lied, saying âmaybe just a cap issue and the inspection is going when the car was parked untouched. ⢠Manager John initially agreed to take the car back, but after a few hours he changed his mind and refused. ⢠I had to take two days off work to deal with this nonsense. ⢠They wasted my time, played with my trust, and completely misled me.
Dishonest Tactics: ⢠Mohammad even used religious language to make me believe I was safe buying from him, saying as a Muslim it would be a âsinâ to sell me a bad car to another Muslim. This was nothing but manipulation to scam me. ⢠John said we sell cars with all inspections and with zero problems. Later, when I pointed out the issues, John suddenly changed his stance, saying: âOf course itâs a second-hand car, it will have problems.â This is the exact opposite of what he claimed before selling it.
Huge Financial Loss:
Because of the endless problems with this car, the official Benz dealership is now only willing to offer me $15,000. Thatâs a loss of over $10,000 in just three months. Every single day, I regret trusting these people and curse them for playing with my feelings and hard-earned money.
Final Verdict:
This dealership is a complete scam. They: ⢠Lie about inspections and conditions. ⢠Refuse accountability once they get your money. ⢠Exploit customersâ trust and emotions for profit.
â ď¸ Attention: Donât trust these scammers. They wait for customers, push faulty cars, and play tricks for commission. Protect yourself and avoid this dealership...
