My wife and I have done around 40 rooms around RI and MA, as well as several other cities in the US. This is the first time going to such a commercialized room before. We did two rooms here in one night, and both rooms I believe were set incorrectly: One room the lock did not have the right code, but we were able to continue on without the contents and make some guesses after the Game Master took it out. In another room we are pretty sure one of the keys, that was supposed to go to a specific lock for a level 5 box, were likely locked inside said box. Both times the GM read the instructions and wasn't sure what to do, and I do not blame them, as you can tell this place isn't really going for an escape room immersive experience and has the GM there for signing people in and setting up the rooms.
The theme for the rooms is painted walls and a couple of items from a thrift shop, with simple metal boxes that have varying locks and pictures taped on them to show you what they go to (sometimes). The complexity for the lower levels is more geared around how obvious they make it that a clue goes to a specific lock. The second tier level inside a room does have some decent puzzles. I rate this a two because it's nowhere close to being a real escape room with regards to quality. I do believe there is room for these to exist out there, for slightly cheaper cost and more casual environment. I would stress that you only go to these rooms if you are looking for a very simplified and cheaper alternative to another escape room in the area. It is also probably better for younger kids and families looking for a bit of a mind challenge, but not as serious.
I also wanted people to know that if you haven't done an escape room before, this type of place is definitely not what the hype is all about. The rooms at this location are good training wheels to learn what kinds of things to think about in an escape room, but the themes in the higher rated ones are so much better. Here, everything is thrown in a room and you get instructions what to do and the props for each puzzle slightly tie into the theme. At other locations you will feel immersed in the adventure as there can be multiple rooms that open as you progress, and each room is heavily decorated. When solving puzzles you are supposed to barely feel you are opening a box or a lock by the way its all presented to you. You will also generally get guided by people who know the rooms inside and out and are not reading from a cheat sheet. If you try this out and leave feeling "meh", then I would definitely recommend at least trying out an easier level one at a better location. Most of the ones I have tried in RI as well as a ton in Boston...

This was my first time trying out an escape room after wanting to for the longest time. I have walked by this location several times and never really checked it out. I always assumed it had just one escape room, but it turns out they have a decent variety of themed escaped rooms with varying difficulties.
Its probably best to make a reservation, especially if you want a specific room and you are on a strict time limit, but we had nothing to do on a lazy Sunday except enjoy the day off and decided to walk in.
The staff was friendly, greeted us, and made us feel welcome. They thoroughly explained the options available and the prices. We had to sign a waiver that only took a few minutes as we familiarized ourselves with a couple of locks featured in the escape rooms accompanied by clues to help unlock them.
Once we felt ready, we entered our chosen escape room. The staff described the scenario and our main objective as well as some rules.
It was nice to know I wasn't really locked in and could exit if there was an emergency. There was also a button for assistance if we had further questions or needed an extra hint or two.
The hour we paid for went by quick as we tried to complete our objectives. We had a blast. Afterwards we took a picture in front of a green screen where they had signs and accessories available to make the picture more interesting. It was so much fun that we purchased another hour in a different room.
I highly recommend for anyone in groups of two or more. Apparently you can do the rooms solo as well if you like...
Read moreFirst time visiting and doing and escape room...never again here thsts for sure...first off wasn't told everything we should have known...there were two padlocks that had nothing to do with the room and weren't involved at all with trying to get out so we wasted plenty of time on them ...the guy that put us in the room was supposed to explain that the 2 locks had nothing to do with the room but he didn't...also there was a clue on a piece of paper that we found in the newspaper stand and no one that worked there ever seen it before..they said it must have been there from the past rooms also there was a blue palstic barrel that had one of the padlocks on it, it also had numbers and letters written in chalk on the barrel that had nothing to do with the escape of the room so after we spent plenty of time punching those numbers and letters into the padlocks we were told that the barrel was supposed to be against the wall a certain way so we couldn't see those numbers and letters on it .. so basically we were spending plenty of time on things that had absolutely nothing to do with the room at all....smh..waste of time and money ..one employee tells you one thing and the other doesn't ...all around disappoint and disaster...
