I will say that this store is very very cool and it’s exciting to walk into, however the prices are what is outrageous here. It’s almost stealing. The pokemon plushies they sell are almost 100% up charge of the original price that you can buy it for on the Pokemon Center.
The pokemon center is certified and have reasonable prices. There is a store in Dayton called Original 151 which is a small business that sells cards and plushies with a slight upcharge of like $2-5 which is reasonable. There’s also a small card shop business in Findlay that does the same thing. So it is achievable and both are well known and have been in the community for years now.
Also the new card set for the Prismatic collection came out yesterday and they are selling it 200-300% more than retail! That is what the scalpers are selling them for on eBay. That is what is so disappointing about this store. They advertise that they are a card shop but charge you $139 for an ETB that just released a day ago when you could walk into target, Walmart or Meijer and buy the same one for $59.
Granted I know that you can’t find them anywhere because it’s a popular set, but still it’s the premise of the store and being a card shop and usually they sell it at retail prices.
This is truly a miss and I’m extremely...
Read moreEdit: I dropped to 1star due to the owners comments. Did research, sweets and geeks has only existed since 2020 the "Multiple Years of Selling" is their sister company alter reality games by the looks of it. Not sweets and geeks. So the excuses given by the owner are just that excuses. They've only been selling Pokemon and cards for 4 years. A tourist trap trying to flatter itself.
The store is clean but the prices are bad. Employees are friendly and nice.
I overheard a manager proudly saying they would sell at "scalper prices" just because they could as I was looking at the funkos and figurines. (Which is why I chose this star level)
If you want better prices and experience and are patient, Mr magic and recess games are better places. And seem to be more community-oriented and less "corporate"/Gamestop(for record a newly released Pokemon trainer box is retailing for 149, the rest are 70-110 when retail is 60-ish for the parents who do not know)
It is a personal choice of mine morally not to buy from a place selling new sets for that high but again is up to...
Read moreI LOVE this store and visit it at least once a month. They have the best variety of products that I have ever seen in a candy store. They have so many types of candy, bulk candies, sodas, and fun collectibles. It’s borderline overwhelming, but in a fun way! There are just so many products to choose from and I especially appreciate their candy selection. Every time I’m there, I stock up on sour candy. I also appreciate that their prices are rather reasonable. Many of their products are hard to find elsewhere other than online retailers. Because they have these candies here, I can avoid that hassle. I’m super happy that we finally have a proper candy store in North Olmsted. I think they are a wonderful addition to The Great...
