Very frustrating experience.
My kids and I went there tonight to pick out a new pair of shoes for my son. We walked in at 6:45 pm on a Sunday. As soon as we walked in, the first employee told us "We close at 8 pm, so you have plenty of time!"
Perfect! But we quickly found out that was the wrong information.
When we got back to the shoe section, the first thing Steven told us was that we only had 10 minutes to receive any assistance from the staff, since they're closing. Very short and to the point.
He gave us a few minutes to browse, and then came back and said to my son "Have you made a decision yet? We need to get you in and out of here in 5 minutes. The lights turn off about 10 minutes after 7 pm." Yes...so we've been told. -_-
I asked another employee for a certain size, since Steven walked away, once my son chose the shoes he wanted. A young man came out with the size we asked for but after my son tried them on, we decided to go up a size. When I asked the same young man to swap out the shoes for another size, and he responded with an eye roll and said "....ok. I guess".
He was very short with me when I thanked him with the new pair of shoes, as if I was burdening him, along with everyone else that works at your store.
I also heard him telling another customer that they're closing soon, so he could no longer be of assistance. I probably heard about the fact that they're closing soon A DOZEN times while we were there, within a 15-minute timeframe.
We are paying customers, and even though you close at a certain time, that shouldn't affect your customer service. All the employees cared about was closing and going home.
I will not return to this store. Whoever is in charge needs to train their employees on customer service skills better, or get new employees, because they make you look bad.
Also, you shouldn't have the lights automatically turn off at a certain time, unless you just don't like money. Suggestion: Don't allow NEW customers in after you close, but still assist the customers that are shopping after...
Read moreThe employees at this location were not very helpful and I felt unwelcome when I first walked into the store. At first, I thought maybe it was just an off day for the staff, but during my second visit I had another uncomfortable experience. While testing out some sport balls—something I’ve seen other customers freely do—an employee came up to me and said, “Is that you?” in a dismissive tone, followed by a scoff. I felt confused and embarrassed, as if I had done something wrong when I hadn’t.
After leaving, I also noticed an employee follow me out and step outside to watch me, as though I was stealing. This was very uncomfortable and uncalled for. I don’t know if this is a common issue, but it left me feeling singled out and unwelcome.
On a positive note, the older gentleman in the golf section was kind and helpful in explaining the golf clubs. He was so...
Read moreI went to Dick's to purchase some tennis shoes. When I arrived I made my way back to the shoe department in the back of the store. Upon arriving there were several Dicks associate's standing just in front of the department. No one acknowledged me. I picked out my display shoe and walked towards the staff members. Again, no one even glanced in my direction. I stood there and listened to the conversation about football. There were four associates!! When they did notice me two of the associates asked each other "who's going to help him"...at this point I was a little put off. Finally, one associate volunteered. I showed him the shoe I wanted. He grabbed it and walked in the back, retrieved the shoes and left....never once asked if I needed any assistance.I tried on the shoes and walked to the register and checked out. Very...
