Update: It seems like the employee have not change their attitude regarding scalping. Their recent discord bio stated: "Card games are a luxury if a charged word like āscalperā triggers you find a new hobby." First, this hobby wouldnāt be nearly as expensive if scalpers didnāt drive up the prices. Second, itās extremely rude and unprofessional for a card shop employee to post something like that publicly. I donāt care if they think itās just a joke, scalping is a serious issue, and having an employee ājokeā about it is completely out of line. If this is how the shop is run, I wonāt be coming back.
I've been coming to this shop for a few months now and It's been one of my favorite places to pick up singles due to how easy it is to find and order specific bulk cards I need online.
However, after recently joining the storeās Discord server to stay updated on future events and announcements, I'm shocked to discover that one of the staff members has been openly bragging about scalping products from surrounding retailers. When concerns were raised, their response was aggressive and unprofessional, with comments like āget more money,ā āif you're broke, don't rip,ā and ābuy from my eBay,ā where theyāre charging $14 for a single blister pack. $14!!!! Ridiculous.... I was wondering why those kinds of messages were left up un-moderated, turns out it was because this person is actually a staff member.
Now, this might just be a discord staff member and not actual employee of the shop, but itās still incredibly disappointing to see this kind of behavior associated with this shop. If this is a behavior allowed in the server, it really makes me question how the rest of the store is sourcing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt normally leave reviews, but Iāve finally had enough of this place. Iāve been coming here for several months, and the only person who has ever treated my friends and me with respect is Nicole. Everyone else acts like our business doesnāt matter. Most of the time, it feels awkward just walking in because weāre the ones greeting the staff, and they usually act annoyed as if weāre inconveniencing them.
From what I understand, only the two managers (a taller white guy and a shorter Hispanic guy with a beard) can handle trade-ins. On my last visit (Today), I was told to wait for one of them. My friend and I patiently browsed cards for about 15 minutes, only to watch one of the managers casually joking around with other staff. When I finally approached him politely, asked how his day was, and pulled out my card, he cut me off without even a greeting and said, āYeah, I donāt do PokĆ©mon. Youāre gonna have to come back later, man. That guy just left.ā This was the same manager who originally told me to wait.
That was the last straw. Iāve always tried to support this store and make a purchase whenever I came in, but my wife, my friends, and I are consistently treated like we donāt belong here. I wonāt be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood selection of product with close to the average markup above actual market price. The main problem I have with this store is the workers, every time Iāve visited itās been a pain just trying to flag the workers down whether theyāre hosting an event or the stores empty. The last two times Iāve been, a worker had his head down and wouldnāt look me in the eyes while helping, and the other I walked out after waiting for almost twenty minutes as they were hosting an event. Iāve heard there are better workers from others but Iāve never felt like the service has been great, If Iām going to spend money on products with such high markup, Iād like to at least feel that the customer service worked to make the experience good for both parties. Iād personally recommend going to Limelight trading cards nearby, itās a bit more pricey but the customer service is miles better.
Edit: Thought it would be worth mentioning some sort of incentive (discount or raffle entry) is given when proving you gave a five star review. A sign is on the counter for those who...
