the pay there was reasonable for an unskilled job, however certain areas of the job could have been improved. such as they did not take care of the "break room" and it was literally falling apart. they also did not clean waste out of the pools until the park, i dont know if that is all the time or not, there was human waste in the wave pool during my morning shift. when i got off i decided to just hop in the pools and cool off, when i had noticed that it was still lingering in the wave pool a couple hours after the staff was notified. the maintenance area behind the beach bay bathrooms was almost always flooded. not too bad but it was noticeable. the gear they had us use to clean up most messes was either bleach, bleach-like sprays, or just the normal everyday cleaner. the gear to clean up messes, spills, or human waste was outdated or just ran out very quickly. i also noticed that some buildings were not taken care of that well, beach side bay bathrooms is an example. i would say that we did our best to keep it clean however the exterior is not the best. this was just my department, i do not know how other departments were. on busy days its hard to find people we are looking for and whenever im not working i have noticed that its hard to find spots to rest my stuff whenever im there. security cameras are rarely used because i have noticed a few people sneaking into the park from the gate by the "break room". i was on the other side of the wave pool when this happened and i had lost the people who snuck in. there is also a little river that people were not allowed into and we had to ask whoever was in there to leave it. this was by the seating areas (not the endless river). there were no signs indicating that people were not allowed in there which is sometimes annoying. they never told us why people where not allowed in there but my guess is just that its for safety. most commonly kids would go in it and run around in it and they had to be removed from that river. some families would sit in the end of it by the splash-a-tory not going any further than that little bank. which to this day i dont know why the havent added signs to there telling us why people could not go in there. in my experience there, the worst parts were kids and teenagers without adult supervision from a parents or guardian. they would leave HUGE messes, never follow any rules ( some had to get kicked out but getting kicked out was an almost rare occurrence), and were often very rude. i had spent and hour and a half cleaning out melted popsicles, and popsicle sticks which were EVERYWHERE, and the trash they had left me with. they were rude almost the entire time i was cleaning it up.
AS A REMINDER TO PARENTS, IF YOUR CHILD OR TEENAGER WANTS TO GO TO NRH20 WITH THEIR FRIENDS ALONE, GO WITH THEM. IF YOU LEAVE THEM BY THEMSELVES THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY WILL BE RUDE TO EMPLOYEES!!!
however there were some benefits, like discounts off of everything, (5-10%) being able to bring a certain amount of people in for free, monthly tickets you could give out to friends, family or just people entering the park. everyone there is friendly and puts on a nice smile. it is a very social and friendly workplace how ever i do not see it being a life long commitment to working there, however each year you get a $0.25 each year. the one thing that i never really understood was why they sold slime at the gift shop. with all the kids running around unsupervised, it seemed like a bad idea. the toughest days were school field trips for all employees working outside. more trash would magically appear and i would imagine lifeguards would have more people than normal to watch over, because they almost never rented out the park. which is understandable because its expensive but having the extra 100 kids there is an hassle for some employees. some departments would be lacking on employees so everyone in those departments would have a little bit harder time. i would only recommend this job for 15 year olds as a first job or just someone in school looking for...
Read moreWe typically visit this location at least twice every season. Yesterday we hosted a birthday party with them for a second time and unfortunately it will likely be our last time.
On 6/28 Check in was time consuming and slightly frustrating because apparently the policy for check in changed the night before (6/27 )coming in and no one thought to send an updated email informing this. My spouse paid for the party online and I arrived earlier to check in with my ID as the email they provided me stated. I was informed I couldn’t check in without the physical card but was not notified prior to coming so of course I did not have his card with me but I had a card available I could put on file in case of additional charges but that wouldn’t work. No one seemed to offer solutions other than “yeah it just started and you have to have it”We live almost an hour from the location so going home to get it wasn’t an option either. Luckily I was able to access the card virtually which they advised they would accept this time.
We enter go to guest services to be directed to our area. Other parties were checking in as well so I waited patiently. After a moment of waiting and not being acknowledged I got someone’s attention to advise what I was there for to which he rudely advised “you only check in here and your party host will be down to assist”. I was aware but trying to check in. After going back and forth for a moment he stated a lady to the left of me had already checked in for us so just follow her to the area. (I had no clue who she was and she was not apart of the party) he assumed we were together because I guess we looked alike but had he taken the moment to speak with me that could’ve been avoided. He apologized, no biggie. At this point my party is arriving and I haven’t even made it to the table.
As far as getting your party in, you have to physically bring a ticket for each person to the front, there is not a check in process beyond that which is frustrating. My last visit I left tickets towards the front and they got in that way.
We got the highest party package they had including free refills cups for the day if you had a wrist band. We attempted more than once to get these but was told this was not an option because there was not a card on file? Which is weird because it was prepaid and I still provided a card at check in. At this point I was so frustrated with the process I had a cooler for the parents and told the kids just get drinks from there. As the party was wrapping up I go to guest services to advise them of the issues with the cups and even management could not provide a reasonable resolution. They offered ice cream vouchers (the party already came with that), they offered to now let the kids use the cups (kids did not need nor want them any more being they realized they didn’t have to wait in line and could use the cooler ). They offered a return ticket but after that experience who would want to come back? I asked for a credit just for the drinks and that was declined. We finished the day without resolution.
The reason for giving at least 1 star is because my party host was nice and attentive. I wish I could remember her name so I could at least...

Full story: rented the cabana a few weeks before July 12th, it was movie night at the Waterpark as well so we brought family from out of town to enjoy their first time here. The host was GREAT he was sweet and caring. We arrived around 3pm and wanted to stay til the movie ends around 9-10pmish.
The cabana offers a fan/safe/fridge/ordering without having to wait in line. Electrical was not working (no fan or fridge in order) we ordered 4 funnel cakes. We were greeted and they apoligized in a timely matter that it may take longer than expected, we were greeted 3x with apologes. So 1 family member stayed at the table incase they arrived with the cakes. It took over 1 hour to receive them. They apologized and advised a full refund and asked if we wanted a complimentary hot dog or something similar. They would be back to take the order. (Never happened) Around 6pm due to weather we all had to pack our things, we waited for 20mins and the thunder proceeded. I asked 3 ppl what would happened to our cabana since we were only here for 3hours.
1 person said sure there is an email but do not have it, they advise to go to somebody with a collared shirt. The 2nd worker advised we could reschedule via email, I said are you sure ?! They said yes and just speak to somebody with a collar in the front entrance for rain check tickets. The 3rd person provided my raincheck tickets and I repeatedly asked are you sure about the raincheck on the cabana?! We have only been here for 3 hours ?? They said Yes to contact this email to the general manager and they will assist. As soon as I got into my car. I emailed, advised of the refund of funnel cakes and let them know about my cabana info, an hour later I received this email back from a Caleb. Tried to be optimistic and understanding during our time there but this email left a bad taste...
