Where to begin, I placed my order at the beginning of October. Pick up was scheduled beginning of November (Long lead time due to Covid-19) I called the day of because I hadn't received a notice that my order was ready. After talking to an employee I was told 5 items I ordered were not in yet. At this point I was frustrated that without taking it upon myself to call I would of traveled 2 hours there to find my order incomplete. So after rescheduling a pick up for after all items were scheduled to be in, I make another call to verify that my order is complete and ready for pickup. This time I'm told 2 items were missing and that they had no estimate of a pick up time for my order. I explain that I'm 2 hours away and I need at least an idea of when it will be ready, the employee got annoyed and said she would have someone go pick the order but they have 80 I repeat 80 orders to pick that day. So I head up to pick up my order and call about 30 minutes before arrival to make sure my order is ready, this time a different employee handles the call and tells me 1 item is missing. I inform her that I would like to cancel the remaining items that are not ready due to it being about 2 months since I placed the order. She said she did see a note saying that an employee had called to inform me that my order was not ready and I agreed to a later pick up time. I told her that was not the case and it was I that called and the employee laughed about it. I arrived picked up my order and left and it will be the last time I do business with The Container Store. Read moreI wish I could give it zero stars. I did my dimensions for a closet from my home on Sunday. The system told me to schedule a call or to go into a store and go over my design. I went to the store at 2 o'clock. There were three employees that were there to help design. Although they could find my name and my design numbers in the system. They did not have any dimensions that I inputted. I was told they did not have access to that. I questioned why they told me to come in without telling me that I needed to write down my dimensions, as the dimensions I am put it in the system apparently are not available at the stores. They said that was a flaw I then drove home, made the measurements, and returned two hours later at 4:10 PM. I was told that there was only one worker working at that time and I would have to come back at 5 PM. I do not know whether or not they have a good design, but I went there for convenience and instead wasted a lot of time At the end, the employee, who by the way was very friendly, said I should really tell someone about it. I am sure she meant that I should sell upper management or their corporate office, but it is a lot easier to tell everyone through yelp. Out of principle, I will never go there again. Read moreWe couldn’t be any happier with our experience at the Novi Container Store. We brought in some photos and dimensions when we first stopped in the store. Within minutes, Ashton had a great Elfa design to show us for our master closet. We went back home, fine tuned some dimensions and made decisions based on some preferences Ashton had asked us to think about. We decided to wait until May when the install would be free. Carrie followed up with us as we approached the time frame we needed. She and Ashton worked as a team and we could always contact either one of them when we needed to. Their enthusiasm for the product and the store made us feel confident that the results would be very satisfactory to us. We knew we could save by doing it ourselves but after seeing the amount of work & time it took Kurt and Brian to do the install, we were happy we put it in their hands. They were professional and very respectful of our wood floors and new carpeting and they took pride in us being satisfied with our new master closet too.
