The Vintage Clubhouse — Local services in Oakland Park

I found this place online and suggested to my girlfriend we walk here. Imagine my surprise when we find a T-shirt with confederate flags and the text "still proud" on it. The store has a lot of good apparel, but with pro-slavery merchandise such as this it leaves you feeling gross and not welcomed.

While the pricing is high, the quality does match. Unfortunately I would never recommend this store to a friend. There is something sinister, or at best ignorant, about a store that sells almost exclusively vintage sporting apparel referencing black and brown athletes and having no issue with making a buck off racist imagery.

Hopefully they revisit their stock and make some much needed edits.

Edit- After seeing owner’s reply, I’m happy they removed the item. Thank you! They should have stopped there. The defensiveness to pass blame on me for not bringing their own merchandise to their attention is immature. Attempting to minimize the problem by saying it’s a small graphic when it’s an entire shirt, small or big; racism is racism. The shirt conveyed no other message besides sympathizing with the confederacy, it was not something you could miss. I did bring it to their attention here online and was met with the owner chastising me. That’s exactly why it’s not always brought up in person. Nor is it my responsibility what they stock. I’ve also only left two other 2 star reviews, for a car dealership in 2016 and a storage unit. It’s not my favorite thing to do. Selling pro-slavery shirts for $50 seems to be their favorite thing to do, while selling black power shirts for $100.

This place is amazing with great vintage items at affordable prices. The owners are two of the nicest twins and people I've ever meet. Any time I need a good deal ,they always hook it up. And when it comes to selling to them , they always offer reasonable prices if you ever want to sell something . So just let them BAMA sent you to get that even better offer!! Just close shop if you're not interested in customers. Couldnt get out of there quick enough. Girl behind the counter was clearly too busy on her phone to offer any customer service. Terrible way to present yourself. What's the point of even being there? Asked about albums and she muttered about the colors, meanwhile, half or the items i looked atvin the store had no pricing, but i definitely was to botther Ms....
