today was my first time at K2 and it was great!! my hair had grown out super long and damaged, so i was looking for a place that could cut asian hair well and wasn’t too pricey. i showed him a picture of what i was looking for (3rd pic) and he was very attentive when i was talking about my preferences (where the hair parts, layers, length). shampoo was great, and the cut was fast and precise. i also loved that he didn’t talk very much during the haircut (im introverted and just like to relax/enjoy silence during haircuts). at the end he gave me some advice on how to style the cut and curl the bottom of my hair. cost was $50 + tip for my women’s haircut which is a very low price in the bay area (he said for men, $35 for haircut). this cut was exactly what i’d wanted, thank you K2 i’ll be back!! also he was very careful to not cut too much in length at a time, and kept checking in with me about length before continuing to cut - to me it didnt matter too much, but i think it’s good for others who have had bad experiences getting haircuts much shorter than...
Read moreBeen going to Ken (owner of k2) for 8 years. My sisters loved my haircuts so much they both started going, too. Today I got to my appointment super late so I told Ken not to dry it all the way at the end (I didn't want to cut into the next person's appointment). Jumped in the car, threw my 2 feet of half-dry, super thick hair up into a clip. Went about my day. Just now I took it out of the clip and that thing--the hair waterfall that happens in movies and I always think 'that never happens'--totally happened!
I think most decent hairstylists can make you look great if they professionally style it after a cut. It takes real talent to produce a cut that looks great when you do nothing. Ken is truly talented! And it's a great deal!
Long haired women know--it takes years to grow out. And you live with haircuts for longer than most people. Go to Ken. You will be happy.
edit: most recently got my hair cut refreshed by Ken for my wedding! He did an amazing job...
Read moreI regularly go to a celebrity Korean salon in LA that cuts hair for some really famous stars. Was in the Bay Area and needed a haircut asap. Ken did a fantastic job and pretty much hit every technique. I have a complex 2-block and he did well with layering, cutting at an angle (for a longer back) and maintaining sideburns.
Are you gonna get a bougie spa treatment? No. But for $35 and just the cut - fantastic. Just make sure you know what style you want and a good picture for reference. Would def come again if I’m...
