Weedmaps only limit people to 1,000 characters so here goes.
Been hitting Maryland dispensaries across the state for a few years now and Hi Tide is at the absolute bottom of my list. It took nearly an hour to pick up my pre-order.
For starters, they donât have enough parking spots to meet the demand. It took me 20 minutes to find a spot. Supposedly they have a parking lot attendant but this person was no where to be found.
I get inside and inform the employee checking people in that Iâm a recreational user with a pre-order. While waiting for my name to be called I was approached twice by employees who asked me if I were recreational or medical? They take your ID at check in and keep it until they check you out.
The process for which they do for preorders is a S show. All of the preorders are placed on the same counter where they check you in. An employee willy nilly picks out an order and calls your name to come to the counter. I watched several people who arrived after me walk out with their preorders before me.
Finally my name is called and I walk up to the counter. The employee gave the total only. He didnât verify the strain like they do at literally every other dispensary . My total was $37.06 and I gave him $40 and received $2 back no loose change. Awesome! He decided to give himself a tip.
People who didnât have preorders were being taken into their âservice areaâ and were in and out in minutes.
Fifty five minutes later I exit the store and get to my car. I pull out the 1/8th I purchased and while the strain I ordered was in fact correct the potency was not right. I ordered a strain at 29.8% and received 22.5%. Iâm a 30%+ kinda guy so this weak bud isnât even giving me a tickle.
Iâll take the hit for not verifying the product before exiting the store but your employees definitely need to verify orders. Itâs the standard.
Additionally there were only a couple of chairs in the lobby that was packed with people. None of the employees operated with any sense of urgency and most seemed lethargic. No other amenities. Some dispensaries offer fruit flavored water or a snack but Hi Tide is no frills.
My advice donât waste your time coming here. Buying weed from a dispensary shouldnât take an hour in the middle of the afternoon in the middle of the week. Though what I purchased was on sale it seemed to be a âTourist Taxâ on strains that are a bit lower $5-$10 compared to âback homeâ.

Read moreI love coming here. It is my go to dispensary in OCMD. I am from out of state and my state doesn't allow our medical users to purchase prerolls which are my favorites. I always go in with a set amount of money and get on the queue to work with a budtender but they also have kiosk ordering and online orders. I believe most if not all dispensaries in the area use a similar queue system. Medical patients have their own line and are expidited ahead of adult use customers. There is also a seperate line for people with online or kiosk orders so that the budtenders are not tied up with those and can focus on the customers or patients that want or need their assistance. I think the longest I have waited was about 20 minutes but honestly I don't care about my wait time. Once they call my name I ask to check out whats on the "last few" table because this is where the big deals are. I usually snag up all prerolls on that table. Then depending on where we are price wise, I tell the budtender how much I have total to spend and ask them to load me up with their recommended prerolls till I am at my limit. They are great at asking the important questions to get a feel for what I like to give me the best products. I have NEVER gotten a bad recommendation or product here. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming. They know their products well too.
They just moved and expanded from the last time I visited a few months ago. It was an amazing experience at the new location. They have a FREE small arcade for while you wait that has 2 pinball machines, a variety arcade machine and a console (I think it was wii). There is also a charging station for your phone if you need it and various merchandise that you don't need an ID to look at or purchase.
I will be back to the OCMD area in a few months and best believe this will once again be one of the first stops (and possibly the last before...
Read moreThis review may be a little long so get comfortable and light something up I went into hi Tide today to make a purchase. I placed my order online which was simple and easy, however once arriving to the store the check in process was extremely confusing and Iâve been in the industry for almost 2 years. I could only imagine what a new patient goes through when arriving! I come in they ask me if I have an order or not which I did so then the lady proceeds to say okay just give me whatever amount of money you have and theyâll just give you change back or theyâll come and ask for more money if you didnât give them enough. now me personally being in the industry for so long I do believe that the system at that store can be ran much more efficiently! I gave the lady my money and card and waited for my purchase at that time.after a few moments the budtender came back with my purchase and I noticed that the money looked short so I asked him if I could check my points because I did not see any way online for them to be checked. he said no problem asked me to come with him and was able to look up my points.he also noticed that the receptionist did not put in my industry discount like I asked her to do so I got overcharged! However the Bud tender that helped me out was very nice and thorough, he was able to put a credit on my account to make up for the mistake. I hundred percent want to give praise to that budtender. he was very very efficient with managing the situation. however my issue lies with the way the store is ran and the way we need to protect new patients! you donât want to scare them off by having a system Is confusing and offputting. You should know what the order is for the person not just blindly asking them for money itâs a little infuriating do we care about our patients or do you just care about money! We have to...
