First of all let me say it is with great displeasure that I am writing this review, as my initial experience with Kanes was AWESOME. But I couldn’t just sit by and not voice my opinion being that no one else would hear me at Kanes. I Purchased the table and chair set that was on clearance as it was being discontinued ;with that it came with a warranty I believe the warranty was for a year. About a week or two before the warranty was due to expire I noticed there was a Nick on the table and I called in to get someone to come and look at it . And I had no worries because I figured Kanes is going to take care of it and I will be just fine. also understand that I really bought this table for decorative purposes as I don’t have any small children or animals. A rep came out to my home for about five minutes or less took pictures and told me he would submit everything to the office but he would not be able to fix it at that time. I was then told that due to the damage being done by wear and tear there was nothing that they could do. It bothered me that they came to that conclusion as no one Asked me what happened( maybe if I would’ve lied I would’ve gotten somewhere but that’s just not in my nature) .So when I called and spoke to a customer service manager she stated that because I didn’t know what happened there was nothing that they could do. Also getting conflicting stories because she also tells me that they don’t repair lacquer, which is why I believe that they did not want to fix it because they no longer carry the item and I later found out that the cost to fix it is much more than what I paid for the dining room set. They gave me numbers to various furniture repair stores ,some that I called and their ratings on the Internet was so low. I did my own investigation and sought out help for myself. At that point I learned that there was no quick fix to fixing lacquer it would not be a quick repair job they would have to sand the complete table down to repair it and so this individual that I spoke to gave me other avenues to take because he said it just wouldn’t be worth it unless I wanted to put the money into it. This was such a disappointing experience being that my initial experience with Kanes was awesome I am beyond disappointed. Chances of me going to Kanes at this point are ZERO TO NONE and I will have to find another furniture place to do my shopping .Neither can I in good conscience refer them to anyone because I wouldn’t want anybody to go through the disappointment. hope you guys really think twice about shopping at Kanes I take some responsibility as I really and truly should have been more aware being that the item is discontinued but the sales person stated to me that any thing that would go wrong within that year it would be under warranty all lies. But the saddest point of all is I still have items through Kanes and I am so afraid of them breaking down and being without any help or coverage. As a consumer this is beyond upsetting we work hard for our money and we trust in individuals to stand by their word and unfortunately they just didn’t. Also the manager at the West colonial location I don’t know his name but he seem to be very nonchalant and he seemed to just not really care ;he said that he would do all that he could to help me but he never followed up with me he never offered anything ;he just let someone else take it from there. What happened to customer service where we followed up and we took care of our customers. Oh well another customer lost but with so many more coming in I’m sure it really doesn’t matter to them. Also why would you put a warranty on an item that you do not cover it just makes no...
Read moreUPDATE: THEY called me and told me the remaining of the refund was issued last week, finally the back is back.
They dont even deserve one star! I have encountered several unpleased shopping experience before, but definitely this one is the worst and to the point for the first time I have to write it out and let more people know!!!!! We purchased a set of furniture from Kanes Furniture on early December and would have it delivered in two weeks from the purchase date. two days after the purchase I decided to cancel one of the items we purchased and they canceled it for me over the phone and agreed to give the refund since it was before the shipment date. because I did it over the phone so I did not have the receipt or anything. one week later all the furniture was delivered (the item I cancelled was not there) and the invoice the driver showed me showed that the status of the item was REFUNDED. They did not give me the receipt. this was happening on late December. Since that, I have contacted the store and the corporate at least 10 times and spoke to both sales and general manager and I even called their corporate. And everytime they told me the refund was either processing or either waiting for the corporate to approve. Finally they told me they would give me the refund but would have to withhold the delivery fee. THIS IS TOTALLY MAKE NO SENSE, since I cancelled it before it shipped. Therefore it never left the warehouse! Then they said they found out that we purchased a reclining chair 4 month ago under this order, but was shipped to a different address. The corporate women argued that this shouldnt happened and the delievery fee should have been charged. First of all, we asked about this when we purchased that reclining chair and the sales said that no shipping fee would be needed. THATS WHY WE MADE THE PURCHASE!!! Second, maybe the sales did the wrong thing, but excuse me that is your company's internal issue(poor communication and mangement), you cannot put it on customers!!! This is not the only thing we ordered, We ordered a whole set, spent several thousand dollars! the store manager told me that he would get me the rest of the money back but just need to be approved from the corporate. But now it has benn more than 3 weeks, every time i call and he said the samething that there is nothing he could do on his end. Then he pushed everthing to corporate and gave me the corporate phone number. I called that number and talked to that dispute lady last week, she told me she would contact the store and definitely would contact me back soon, but as of today, I have heard NOTHING!!!! This whole company is a Mess!!!! One more thing, we bought a marble dining table from them. After it was delivered we noticed that there were many crack spots or little broken pieces on the surface. Their service man came and inspected and told us that this is normal as it is the nature of the stone. I disagreed. It is obviously not natural. it was manufactured. my whole kitchen and bathrooms are granite stone, I know what natural defects look like!!!!The service man told me that someone would reach out to me within 48 hours about this, and again, NO ON CONTACTED US!!!!So, last week I called the store and again was trying get the hold of the irresponsible manager about this. and one more time the lady picked up the phone said she would forward it to manager and he would call me soon. Of course, I have not got any phone call from the as...
Read moreDishonest and Deceitful! I was in last week, furniture shopping at a couple area stores, so dead set on getting furniture from somewhere. My journey took me to Kane's, which I wish it hadn't.
First off, instead of being able to browse, the salesperson was right on top of us the whole time pushing us from area to area, so it was hard to get a good look at anything. After he had done his thing, I told him we needed a few minutes without him to circle back and actually look.
We did find a few sets we like and were willing to purchase. Being a good consumer, it always good to ask what kind of deal they can give if we were to buy now, which he said on what we chose, he could save us around $500. That sounded good and we accepted.
Here is where we start to get a lot shady. He asked me how to pay and offered several financing options. I do not like to finance and I hate my credit being run. He said no worries, they have 1 year interest free and they do not run credit. Not sounding legit, i asked him many times about this and he assured me he runs a lot of business and to trust him, all will be good.
Once he put everything into system, he came back with a synchrony app and asked me to sign. I said is this for credit check financing, as I do not want this. He told me, again, they do not run any credit, this was for ID verification for the terrorist act as part of income and ID verify. Ok, I guess, why would he lie for a sale that could be cancelled and more?
After spending some time at the computer, he now needs my debit card for the financing company to check payment history, etc. Side note, I have done this type of financing before, so all of this is in line with previous experience.
At this point the store is closing, he says he needs a couple signatures to verify the inventory and secure the delivery, then stop back tomorrow to finalize. I verify everything, looks good, see you tomorrow.
I get home and have 2 credit alerts for inquiries! WHAT, I thought they did not run! I look at my account and my debit card has charges that left me with $20! I saw him swiping multiple times, but he said the system was not reading it. When I looked at the pricing, the discounts that he applied amounted to $75 on the total, not the $500 he promised.
Going in the next day, the salesperson took the liberty of finalizing everything for me, the manager saying "well thats what you signed", and in order to run credit they just need social which gives them full authority to run credit with whomever, how many ever times they need.
At this point, ridiculous experience, no one on same page, no one seems to care about the experience (2 mangers and sales rep!), and I am the one at fault for all this. Cancelled and going elsewhere!
End result, what terrible customer service, what a liar of a sales rep, such a fraudulent experience, and what a horrendous waste of time. I now have 2 credit cards that only work at Kendry's, like I will ever go in one again, and to this day, still trying to get my money back in my account (granted only been 4 days).
Conclusion, if you ever shop here, do not trust any words they say and make them put everything in writing before you sign anything, again, regardless, of what...
