CarTunes — Local services in Ogden

Let me start by saying I have never had a problem with cartunes...up until my last install they did. They charged me an okay price to install my subs amp and bass knob in a mercedes (which I understand can sometimes be difficult). They said it would take about 4hrs. Well 4hrs quickly turned into 6 which turned into 10 and then turned into 12 and a half hours of me being out of a vehicle because "it's a mercedes"...... They also said they were dealing with other cars when mine was the first vehicle in for the day. I had to ask someone to drive me out there at 10o clock at night to pick up my car! I finally got my car back and had another bill from them on top of that for a PAC unit I didn't need and MORE labor charges ontop of the bill they already told me it would cost. I drove about 1/2 mile down the road and noticed my subs would cut in and out constantly and after calling them and going in they told me they couldn't get me in to fix it until the end of the week. After doing some troubleshooting on my own because I didn't want to be out a vehicle for the entire day again I noticed the audio cables were reversed and my ground was screwed into a peice of sheet metal which evidently caused my amp to not deliver steady audio so now I'm out a perfectly good amp (that I bought from them and worked just fine up until they touched it) and had to buy another on my own because they don't want to help me with their terrible work and long work time which should've been a simple 4hr install. My son and I restored my dad's old truck. We wanted a good audio system in it, its always nice to listen to clean, crisp music. Everyplace in the Ogden area wanted to sell us the biggest, baddest system, come on guys this is a truck and then we went to Car tunes and Gene wanted to see the truck before he would recommend a system... wh..what? Gene said he didn't want to sell us something we didn't need and wouldn't be happy with down the road. The truck only had the cab on the frame at this point so Gene recommended we only buy the deck and an amp kit(power wires and RCA wires) as to have all the wires in place when the truck was finished. We returned with the truck 80% complete and Gene gave us many options, he wasn't pushy he told us the options and let us talk about it. We decided on all Memphis components. Gene was fair on price, didn't try to up sell us and when we installed it at home Gene helped us with any questions we had. Fast forward about 8 months, system installed, truck nearly completed(I highly recommend the sound deaden-er that is sold here). Went back to have the system 'tuned' Nathaniel spent about 40 minutes with us and got the system sounding fantastic he had found something we had hooked up wrong and corrected it no charge, I'm never going to any other place. Do NOT take your car here unless you want to walk out feeling scammed and disappointed. They blew the fuse box in my car and damaged the factory amp. I was out of a car for almost a month. After they had replaced the parts, the radio stopped playing. It turns out, they didn't ground the wiring properly and it melted the "high-end" converter that they installed. They also claimed my amp was bad and it blew my $250 rockford sub. I took my amp to Soundware House where they performed a diagnostic on the amp and everything was fine. Do you think they replaced the converter and my sub? No! Their way of "making it right" was by telling me that they would give me a good deal on their subs. I looked online and they were literally trying to sell me a sub for what it goes for retail online!

Please take your car to a more reputable audio shop such as Hi-Fi or Soundware House. It's worth the extra wait and money. Working with CarTunes was a disaster and I'm down over $250 because of these guys. Watch out for Kyle, he's the one who worked on my car and has a history of poor worksmanship and yet he still has his job there. Goes to show how little this place actually cares about their customers. It's all a facade. I don't want anyone to have to go...
