...I'd rather eat at golden corral... Was here for a work dinner. I wasn't even the one paying and it wasn't worth even being free.
We had a reservation for 545... Yet didn't get Sat until 6pm. 6 people crammed into the smallest booth in the back. Shoulder to shoulder. I've Sat on metal benches that were more comfortable. No padding just flexing wood and a table 2" away from your stomach... And I wasn't even the biggest person at the table.
It was our servers 2nd day she said, and she seemed frazzled, she had no help. She wrote down all the orders, double checked them. No real issue with her, she was lovely and obviously juggling more than should be expected of a new hire. But there is some serious back of house, time management issues.
Waited 15 minutes to get drinks and a loaf of bread .. Another 15 minutes to order. But finally the first alcoholic drink arrived. Probably 30 minutes for the food to come out... Out of 6 plates 3 were wrong. 1 wasn't even remotely close. Wrong sides, wrong mains. One of our party has ibs and ordered their's to go... And asked for it to be brought at the end of the meal but it comes out with the rest... Guess what wrong meal... It took them another 20 minutes to fix 2 out of the 3 wrong orders... I shit you not 2hours after arriving and our 6th party member hasn't received their food... To go boxes were brought for the others BEFORE the 6th plate of food. Desserts offered before their food showed up... Server was apologetic and said they told their manager... But the manager never came by to address this obvious kitchen issue.
Now as for food. The table ordered artichoke dip, and potato skins... The side salads and soup show up before the appetizers... 2 ceasers, a wedge and 2 ranches. The ceasers were swimming in dressing soggy. Soggy croutons. One of the ranch salads was asked for to go. Nope they forgot or can't read. No complaints from the French onion soup. The artichoke dip... Cold The potato skins... Burnt charcoal sticks with "melted" cheese... Maybe 15 minutes ago when it was originally melted... Just a block of burnt crispy kindling.
Got one of the combo plates. I think it was $40 for a 10 oz New York, with 3 fried shrimp, an upcharge for the loaded baked potato ... Which apparently is just butter and sour cream... Didn't have cheese or bacon... The potato, just overcooked and a hard and a super crispy exterior, came with green beans. Actually those were solid I'm pretty sure they throw them in the steak grease after being cooked... While the steak was cooked to medium rare as requested, it felt lacking flavor (probably salt) and was cold. The shrimp were somehow both extra crispy and soggy. Probably fried and sat in a bowl for too long before plating. The batter wasn't anything impressive while they were decent size shrimp.
the best part of the meal was the honey on the table for the bread.
Yah for $40 and up plates you'll have to listen to 3 shouted happy birthday songs... Ruth Chris prices for service worse than golden corral but trying to feel like Texas Roadhouse and failing on all accounts.
Just go to Texas Roadhouse and pay $20 for the same meal, but get it hot fresh and fast. Hell Golden corral which I make fun of has better food and steaks.
I'd rather risk gas station sushi than...
Read moreIt was an interesting experience. My girlfriend and I came here on a whim because Timbermine had a 75-minute wait.
Right off the bat, it seemed very disorganized and a total fustercluck. Staff was discombobulated as far as seating arrangements and who goes first.
When we got seated, our server came up and asked if we wanted appetizers and drinks before we could even open the menu up or look at the drinks.
We got our drinks, I got myself the winter special old fashion and my girlfriend got a Moscow. Unfortunately, my drink looked pretty pinner, as it was served in such a small glass and looked half full. It definitely wasn't worth the $9 or $10 they're charging. The Moscow was super sweet, which is odd. Most of the Moscows I've had were more sharp tasting. Never had a sweet Moscow mule. All in all, both cocktails were a disappointment and not worth the money.
The food was okay. We both got ourselves French onion soup, which, unfortunately, was all that was left, but it didn't look or taste fresh. It looked like a pre-made French onion soup you find in the freezer at costco. The cheese glob looked like an egg. No real flavor to it, not very appealing.
Au Gratin potatoes looked like they were from a box or had been sitting for a while, didn't have that fresh, and just made taste. Was also just warm enough. Same thing with the mashed potatoes and gravy.
Our prime rib steaks weren't bad, but once again, they didn't come out hot. They came out just warm enough. I didn't get that aroma of a freshly cooked steak. It wasn't bad, but there was no real flavor to it, which was disappointing.
Our server had very low energy and didn't seem very friendly or inviting. He came off as someone who had no real interest in being there and wasn't very attentive. He was just there to take an order and take the money. Staff, in general, seemed scatterbrained and uninterested. Some of the bussers were talking on the phone through the airpods, which wasn't a good look. It didn't feel like anyone was interested in being at work, and the staff wasn't engaging.
The covered wagon seemed like a neat concept, but in actuality, it made us feel pretty claustrophobic. The restaurant was pretty dark,so we couldn't fully see any of the animals or decor.
Overall, our experience wasn't worth the $100 tab. We didn't feel welcomed, the drinks were way too sweet and underpoured, and the food was just warm enough to serve. It was nothing special, especially for the prices...
Read moreUnfortunately really disappointed in this place. I’ve been excited to try it and it’s seems to have good reviews. The other night we went in for two birthday dinners being celebrated. Our waitress was nice but really slow, the restaurant was pretty dead for a Friday night at 6:30.. our drinks consistently ran low. My main issue with this place is my mother and I ordered the chicken fried steak and it’s was so overcooked an burnt the knife barely went through. I tried a couple bites of mine just to see if it was just the ends that were burnt but it was all the way through, so both my mom and I did not finish it. The waitress eventually asked if we would like boxes and I told her no thanks and brought up the steaks being really over cooked which was a lot for me cause I have social anxiety and hate making a complaint but this was so bad and I felt bad for my parents since they were paying for the dinners and the waitress was just like oh nooo.. and walked away so we were like okay? Eventually a manager came over to talk about the dinners since we were still waiting on the check and she asked if we would like something else or to be remade but we were already there for 1 hour and 40ish minutes so we were ready to go and said no thanks.. she eventually made it sound like she would take off the steaks and offered two free dessert and again we were like no thanks to desserts but she really pushed the free desserts so I thought she was really trying to fix the situation by removing the two over cooked meals and offering dessert so we eventually agreed to the dessert to go, to later find out that was her trick was to get us to accept the 2 cheaper desserts for free but to keep the 2 awful meals on that’s that costed about $40 that we barely touched. I was really surprised and disappointed that they low balled like that when we were really trying to be nice about letting them know the issue and know it’s not the servers fault but she did not handle it correctly. Unfortunately the family won’t be back cause the prices of that place are no where near worth or quality of the food you get. If I’m gonna pay that much I rather got to Ruth Chris or another better steak house. Hopefully this doesn’t happen to...
