Most of the prices are higher than say Walmart unless you catch something on sale. It's a rough time of the year for everyone but the person who checked me out was clearly checked out themselves. As a manager, these people need better pay and benefits because we all know they're not getting paid a liveable wage. In no way do I hold this against the poor person having to deal with more geriatric people than a nursing home. I originally came in to pick up an online order. Some of my order wasn't available. That's fine. What's not fine is the fact that I found one of the said unavailable items while browsing. So all whomever picked my order literally had to do was to move an item slightly to the left to see the item that was "missing..." When I was checking out, I told the kid my name. He didn't ask for the confirmation, email, etc. He brought back someone else's order... I could have left with two Christmas trees for the price of 5 mesh rolls had I not been honest.. The other items I bought he stuffed into one bag, damaging one of my floral picks.. I don't like using plastic bags but I'm also not comfortable using my reusable bags that I put food in and getting non-foodsafe glitter on them. As such, I had to ask him to double bag it since part of my picks were sticking through the bag.. Overall, I will shop here when they have a better deal than Walmart or something hard to find but I don't think I'll order my items...
Read moreThis is the easiest post I'll ever write because of my visit to Michael's and a lovely young woman named Jaliyah. I went running into the store trying to come up with supplies, and I was pressed for time. I had that doe-in-the-headlights look as a result. I couldn't find an item, so I asked Jaliyah for help. As young as she is, Jaliyah instinctively knew I was so out of my depth. She helped me find an item I'd never find. When I tried to check myself out and got snagged, Jaliyah stepped in again and checked me out at her register. She also added a coupon for me!! She was as pleasant, helpful, and thoughtful as I would ever have needed in a sales associate. The reason my post is all about Jaliyah is because she deserves the accolades. However, I believe any store's management who possesses the ability to hire such an exemplary person is a huge reflection on the high-end quality of that store. Michael's had absolutely everything I needed. It is well-stocked and diverse in the choices it offers for...
Read moreI love Michael’s, so this is not about Michael’s the company… it’s about THIS Michael’s in particular. I am new to this area, and have gone to this Michael’s a few times now, and each time I’m shocked by how disorganized and weirdly stocked this location is. There are a BUNCH of workers, and only ONE register with a cashier, they want everyone to use self check out. They have a BUNCH of workers and they won’t make eye contact with you, and they don’t know where anything is or if they even carry many items. Why so many workers but no helping customers? It’s ridiculous! And the products they have are all cheap junk from China. It’s got more little kid stuff and toys than a target (which is right down the walkway), and weirdly a LOT of cake decorating supplies. But raffia? Nope. Corner rounder punches? Nope. Lots of plastic crap tho… and workers who refuse to give customers a second. I’m so disappointed and now I know why the hobby lobby across the street does so much...
