Went to refund an item that we had won as a gift, but didnât have a receipt for. I was returning the item because we already own the exact same one. The item had never been used or even out the box. It currently sells on the shelf for $19.99. I researched the refund policy before making the trip to the store. Upon coming into your Olive Branch location the first cashier told me that they canât take back any merchandise without proof of purchase, even though that isnât what their policy states online. I tried explaining that to him, but he would not help me further. So I checked the website again to make sure I hadnât misread the policy. I then approached the gentleman at the customer service counter, who told me that he could refund the item but would need my ID. No problem because thatâs what the policy states. He then scans the item and tells me the best he can do is give me $2.04 on an exchange card. The policy states the item will be refunded to an exchange card for the lowest sale price in the last 90 days. This item is not clearance, so there is no way I believe it would have ever sold for that low of a price. Academy needs to abide by their refund policy, if not educate their employees on correct policies and procedures. They lost a...
Read moreThis was a very disappointing visit to Academy. I went specifically for an exercise ball to use in my home physical therapy, but they didn't carry it.
I am physically disabled and depend on the motorized scooters in large stores. When I first walked in, I noticed they had 1 manual wheelchair (which I cannot use) and one motorized scooter like you would find at Walmart. The single scooter they had was completely dead, facing the wrong way, and not plugged in; even though there were 3 employees standing right at the front doors. I can handle the unavailability of an item I'm searching for, especially during these times, but being forced to walk the best I can, and then to be let down on top of it, that was hard.
I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because there was a young man who helped me look for my item after I went back to the front and asked for help. He was very polite and courteous, and sincere in his apologies that they didn't have my item in stock.
Side note: I ended up picking one up at CVS of all places for about $2 đ
TL:DR Not very handicap friendly store, a nice kid employee, bought the item I wanted at...
Read more7/6 @12 worker Tim I went to exchange my shoes that I received as a birthday present for another size. I did not have the receipt because they were a gift. TIM at the customer service was not even the slightest bit of polite. He was arrogant in how carried himself and rude in his tone of voice and how he handled the situation. He rang up the shoes I was returning and they came up to be $6.19 and then said âwe are only allowing you to use $3.15 on the pair you want to exchange for. You donât have a receipt so that is what you get.â Iâm a little irritated bc why canât I just do an even exchange? Then a lady comes up behind us, he says âare you returning?â She said âyes sirâ to which he responded as rude as can be, âyou need to go the end of the line.â The line that everyone is checking out in at the register. He was at the customer service desk where returns should be done, not ringing up traditional customers!
Tim, I hope you have a better day bc the way you treated us today was not appropriate for you to be in...
