It was a very good dinner experience! Not too busy, staff was super friendly, but after our food came, waitress got swamped momentarily & it was almost impossible to get my water refill. ..After SHE'd realized I'd need 1 soon, so she asked me. I thankfully said yes. she made her way back around 2 recheck on us about 5-10 mins later@that time I reminded her& asked about my water refill. She apologized & brought a refill on her NEXT round back around, w/ check. What I understand completely now-a-days, is; in most places of employment (of all types) they have varied amounts of customers@any/all times& also most places seem 2 have little-to-not enough good help 1/2 the time (either under staffed or employees don't wanna work while on the clock). I also understand, that no matter what tour position or place of employment, each person is only 1 person& cannot please various amounts of people, in various ways ALL @ the same time. So, over all I give the entire experience a 4 rating. I had cheesy, Parmasean crusted chicken breast & steamed broccolli. FIRE!!!! Chicken was perfect, soooo delicious! Broccoli was steamed to perfection & it was so fresh & green! ... but I never had broccoli soo salty before! Sooo salty! I would prefer no salt on my broccoli, if given a choice. But it almost seemed like the lid fell off salt container above broccoli @ some point before making it to the table& it went unnoticed. But I still ate some of it; dipped in their CREAMY, DELICIOUS RANCH Dresisng! That was fire too! (I've used the word "fire" out of normal context here, sorry. Fyi: my comments of "Fire food" are meant to express how SUPER, XTRA DELICIOUS I think it was! (Not in any way meant as spicy or hot/like spicy). Unfortunatly, late that night, next a.m.& once in the afternoon; my tummy was suddenly all rumbles & I had 2 make (3 total) emergency stops, ASAP 2 the bathroom. ... I am not saying it was b/c of that food, b/c I am unaware of the reason behind it. I'm just stating the facts. Sorry if that was t.m.i. for any...
Read moreMy spouse and I went down there as a present for our wedding night. First time ever. I knew we were going to be rushed, or the service would be crappy bc we were walking in at 930pm and they close at 10pm. I honestly didn't realize how late it was. Walked in, saw quite a few tables still dining. The hostess ran from the God knows where to meet us at front and asked if just us two, and led us to a booth when we said yes. Long story short. Our waitress came 10minutes later to offer drinks. We ordered our food, no special were offered and wasn't asked if it was our first time or any friendly conversation to help us choose our meal. Or just make small talk. Either way, I was ok w it. Not a big deal. Then, I get my salad. Three minutes late I get the bread. No food yet. Five minutes and she comes out with our main dish. She blames her co-workers for taking our appetizer to the wrong table. Three minutes later, we get our appetizer. So here I have a steak for main dish. And tortilla chicken something for appetizer. Both hot plates. Not knowing which to eat first. I don't want cold steak so I eat this first and risk eating my appetizer cold. Steak is salty. I try to disguise the salt w the appetizer, and just my luck that its dressing/dip was also some kind of salty or some ingredient was too much. Good thing I had some bread.
I didn't say anything bc I was already annoyed. And I understand they just wanna get off work. But had this experience been better, and friendlier staff, the waitress would have made $25 tip from us. We don't demand anything just a good dining experience. Believe that we tip well. And leave great reviews as well as recommendations to friends.
Management has reached out to me. And I am not basing this experience to judge the whole location. But I hope they consider this and help other enjoy...
Read moreI am fuming while typing this. Today was my niece’s 8th birthday. My niece passed away in the south Omaha house fire three days after Christmas 2022. So we decided to take my mom (her grandma and guardian) out to eat to try and cheer her up. I’ve never once had a bad experience at Longhorn until today. We were seated promptly even showing up unexpectedly with 10 people. We got our drink orders going and then about 25 minutes later we finally got to order our food. A few of the menu items were sold out. Not once did we complain. It took about 45 minutes for our food to come out. Still did not complain. My mom ordered the lobster and shrimp chowder. She was told they were out and that they would replace it with potato soup free of charge. Great! When we were getting ready to pay, the soup was on the receipt and my mom explained what happened to the waitress. She began yelling and arguing at my mom telling her she did receive the soup and she would have to pay for it. Another waiter walked passed and vouched that my mom didn’t receive the soup. Our waitress didn’t apologize or anything just said ok and went to the back. Next thing we know we are being accused of threatening the waitress by the manager. She approached us aggressively and when we started defending ourselves she threatened to call the cops on us. I felt discriminated against because we were a group of black people. The whole scene was quite embarrassing. We finished paying and once we walked to the door we realized that the manager was outside waiting for us to leave. Like I mentioned before, I had never experienced bad service from Longhorn before today. And for it to be the everlasting memory of the first birthday we’ve celebrated without my niece, I am filled with sadness and...
