This is the first bad review I have ever left in my life. I am at this Costco once a week. I regularly pick up several pizzas from here to take back to my employees. My experience is usually great. Today, I arrived around noon to pick up my phone order. Every other time I have had somebody quickly help me at the cash register. Today I walked up to the cash register and was told to use the kiosk. This man was clearly flustered from the lunch rush. Which is fine, except that I had my company card information on my phone, instead of actually having the card this time. I tried to explain this. I figured the cash register was the best place for this to be manually entered. The same gentleman then tells me that I was an adult and just needed to figure it out myself, all while pointing at the kiosk. He still didn't seem to understand that I wanted his help, as every time he made a disrespectful comment, he would just walk away. I then asked again for his help. So he finally asks me for my name and very very begrudgingly grabs my pizzas. He then tells me to figure it out myself on the card reader. Which I can't, because there is no option to manually enter the card information. I am now showing him my phone explaining that I need him to manually enter the information. He throws his hands up, while raising his voice, and tells me that he will not help me. He then grabs my pizzas and starts walking away with them. So I tell him to come back and I tell him I will just use my personal card. I understand if the system does not allow for manual entering of card information, but he never said this. Instead, he told me I was an adult and should figure it out and that he wouldn't help me. Genuinely the worst experience I have ever had with an employee anywhere. He was disrespectful to me from the second I walked up. I had 2 of my employees with me, and they joked that we should start using Sam's Club instead, because they couldn't believe how poorly we were treated. We then went to Sodalicious to get drinks for my team. When I asked whether they were able to manually enter my card, they answered "of course we can!" It is crazy how big of a difference a single...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo preface, I like Costco, the stuff there and the food are all 5 stars, I honestly think the vanilla/strawberry swirl is one of the best ice creams I've ever had somehow? However, I have an issue with the policy. I went earlier today, I had a small cart of stuff, and then waited about 20 minutes in the self-checkout line. A worker at the self-checkout is checking membership cards. I use my wife's card, we just got married a bit ago, but she was out of town so she wasn't with me. The lady sees my wife's picture on the card and says "sorry, if you aren't her, we can't let you check out. She has to physically be here in order for you to be able to check out." I asked her and another employee if I can just FaceTime her for that, and they say "no, we need it to be her giving permission (as if that's not her??)." So they take my cart away to be emptied and re-shelved. A very nice guy comes by and offers to use HIS membership for me to be able to check out, which I accept. The lady AT THE SELF-CHECKOUT very sternly says "you (the man) HAVE to use YOUR own card to pay for his (my) groceries. That is the way that works." So. I'm NOT allowed to use my wife's card, or FaceTime her and she tells the employees she's my wife, I can use her card, BUT I CAN have a stranger use HIS membership for me to get my stuff. BUT in offering his membership card, HE IS REQUIRED to use his money, I can't just use MY money for MY groceries. Costco, what does it matter? You still have your members, you still get my money, why does the whole membership and whoever's card thing have to be so convoluted? Make it make sense. Side comment: this is self-checkout. If you're gonna be like this, just make some more registers, otherwise just let us actually check ourselves out. It's not like we can check out anything without a membership card anyway š If this is ultimately a money concern, I'm sure whatever money you think you're losing is easily made up in the money gained from your food court or rotisserie chickens, but I'm also not an economics guy, I'm just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGraveyard CNA here for hospice, itās hard when I have no time during the week to come to Costco and get what I need today was one of those days where my two children who are on the autism spectrum do not eat any solid foods so I had to run in and grab some milk some ice cream because thatās what they drink with added nutrients and vitamins in it once I got to the cash register. I was informed that my membership had just expired this day, today!!! so I asked to speak to the Manager to see if he could kindly allow me to purchase my items and come back on the next time that I come in and pay that renewal fee I was told NO they cannot do that. The lack of sympathy that people really do have was really shown today the ice cream that Costco sells contains milk and eggs the flavor my son just loves his high sensory will not allow him to eat anything else he went from just drinking milk to now having the ice cream just very disappointed having to leave the store trying to figure out what heās going to be drinking for the next couple of hours till I figure out what to do with my renewal fees. It just sucks because I just really Needed today and for them to just put everything to the side really sucked having to take my boys out of there crying because they cannot have their chocolate milk and their milk and their ice cream having to deal with temper tantrums in the car because they do not understand self-control or anything that So-called normal person would understand so thanks Costco, my family will be taking their business somewhere else and Iām including a really nice post on my Facebook page encouraging tons of other mothers to do the same because itās really ridiculous. The lack of sympathy...
