My husband and I have been coming to this RC Willey for years and there is ALWAYS and issue with payment or delivery. Two years ago we ordered a recliner and couch. We got the recliner 2 weeks later but after a month the couch never came. We called and asked where our couch was, they said it would be delivered in 2 weeks. We waited 3 months and then finally told them to cancel the order and refund us our money. We went in back in November and ordered a dryer. We paid a $600 down payment and had the rest put down on our store credit card. We were told we would recieve a call to set up delivery. We waited a week and never got a call. We went back in and they said "we never ordered it, you didn't finish paying." Because the woman at the desk told us she had placed the remaining balance on our store card, even gave us a reciept, but apparently never actually charged our card. We ended up buying the part to fix our old dryer. Despite all of our horrible past experiences, we decided to give it another chance because we unexpectedly and desperately needed a new washer and dryer when our dryer once again went out. We went in this past Monday (Feb 17th) and bought a $3k washer and dryer set. We paid $1100 cash upfront and put the rest on the card. The woman at the front desk was impatient and rude, upset because she had to count out the cash and have a second employee double check. The bills were 100s, 50s, 20s, and a few 10s and 5s. We didnt even give or ask her to take the other $150 we had in ones because we didnt want to make it difficult for her. It was extremely rude for her to say "You're not going to pay with all of that cash are you? You're not going to make me count all of that out, right?" We literally took our entire savings out of our safe the same night our current washer and dryer broke to go in and order new ones. The banks were already closed, so no we didnât go and exchange everything for bigger bills. Cash is legal tendor. Its literally your job to accept payments. We then set up delivery for today (Feb 21st.) We were told the dryer may not come until a later date, but we were guarunteed that the washer would be delivered Friday February 21st because, and I quote, they "had it in stock and available right now." Delivery came today, they had the dryer but not our washer. We called and asked where the washer was and we were told the soonest it could be delivered would be March 5th, 12 days after we were originally told it would be delivered. Turns out "in stock and available now" doesn't actually mean in stock and available now. I guess I just don't understand why there's always some sort of issue with every single purchase. It's not only frustrating, but also very inconvenient and disappointing. So my best advice, if you purchase anything from this RC Willey, triple check billing, set up delivery before leaving the store, and automatically assume that not all of your items will be delivered together and that your delivery will take a minimum of 1.5-2 weeks longer...
Read moreOur oven broke. It was a gas range and electric oven. We went to RCWilley in Orem, where we had past success buying couches. We explained our type of oven set up and they showed us an oven that was brand new but in the dented section. We couldnât find any problems with it and it was obviously still new, just a small scratch that would be hidden. We confirmed with the salesman that for sure it was gas on top and electric underneath because thatâs how our wiring is in the house⊠He said yes you can see the plug coming out the back for Electric⊠My wife opened up the oven and said then where are the coils and he said they were underneath where we couldnât see them⊠That didnât seem to make too much sense to us but heâs the expert. The salesman also went out of his way to tell us that Pleasant Grove city -where we live -offers two or three free pick ups of large appliances separate from the regular garbage service. So we had them put it in my truck and we drove home. On the way home we contacted Pleasant Grove who confirmed that they do not offer that service, that was frustrating but not as frustrating as what happened next.. as we started to install the new oven a friend of ours that was helping that is more knowledgeable in this stuff said âyou are going to have to take this back, this is a gas range and gas oven!â We said we confirmed several times with the sales people there and they said for sure it was electric on the bottom part including showing us the electric plug coming out of the back⊠Our friend said no thatâs nothing to do with the oven heating part that is just simply plugging in the electric for the digital part the clock, timer, light etc. and then the real kicker, in fact this oven wonât work here because you are not wired for this properly. We had to have an electrician come out and drill holes in the wall and change the wiring so that it would work for the new âall gas ovenâ because I didnât want to haul it back there again and start over. I donât know if the salesman knew he was selling us an all gas oven when we specifically said we needed gas range and electric combo, either way he either knew that and was dishonest or he had no idea which isnât much better.. very disappointing and expensive experienceâŠdonât think weâll be giving RC Willey any more of our business..
Update: RC Willey, to their credit, reached out to me after reading my review. They apologized for not having sales people trained in that area and said they talked with the particular salesman. They also offered to recredit some of the cost as a gesture of good will. I appreciate that they cared enough to do this. Maybe we will give them a chance again in the future. There is still a question...
Read moreReally disappointed in RC Willey, we are building a new home and have purchased all new appliances. Spending over $20,000. I usually go with Costco because Iâve had good luck with them in the past but in comparing prices RC Willey was the same and I figured Iâd keep the purchase somewhat local. If you can call RC Willey a local company.
First mistakeâŠdonât fall for the Blue Rewards scam. They charge you $100 for a year of unlimited delivery and appliance installation, only they donât install half of the appliances. I ordered two dishwashers and an oven, some fridges that just have to be wheeled into place and Iâm told sorry it doesnât include installation of the oven or the dishwashers because weâre not licensed to do that. Well great. I can install the fridge myself, just plug it in. Jokes on me for thinking installation would actually be installing anything.
I know for a fact that Costco includes installation in their prices and that they will install dishwashers and ovens (as they did when I was ordering those same appliances when we finished the basement in our previous home). Granted it is probably by a licensed person since it was a different company than the delivery drivers but at least it was covered in the price of the appliance. What a waste of time and money there. Now Iâve got to pay a plumber and electrician to install the products that wouldâve been installed at the same price through Costco. Not to mention I wouldâve saved the $100 fee and gotten 2% back on my executive membership. I guess I had to get punished for trying to support the âlocalâ guy.
2nd issue is the fact that I was told I should put in an order for a popular product that they were currently out of stock but would be getting some in at the end of April (this was April 12th or so). Here it is Memorial Day May 26th and I still havenât seen the product weâve put 50% down on. Donât trust the sales people!
TL;DR - Just buy your appliances at Costco, the prices might be the same but you will be better off by not paying the blue Rewards fee (buy your Costco Executive membership instead) and then youâll get 2% back and have your appliances installed and a full year of Costco membership paid for. Actually with the money you save and get back youâll have multiple years of a...
