The moving day comes and Alex informs me that there is a $95 charge per appliance. After moving a few items into the truck, me and my wife contemplate whether or not we want them to take the appliances or not because it'll add another $400 on top of the $800 planned to be spent. Before we give them and answer Alex comes to talk to my wife and asks her for a tip in exchange for waiving the appliance fee. We did not respond to the absurdly unprofessional suggestion. We then notice they are slowing down after just 1 hr of work and they are wrapping things that do not need to be wrapped. Like a box that was already tapped, or a metal chair. They didn't wrap a queen sized bed. When we arrived at the destination they unloaded the truck and placed the items where we asked them to put them. After they were halfway through, Alex gave us the bill and we saw that Alex wanted to charge us for 5 hrs and now the total was over $1200. We thought that we certainly cannot afford the $400 appliance fee, but we surprised that it was not on the bill. We finished paying and they finished unloading. We gave the 3 guys cold water throughout and they wanted Gatorade, and we gave them the biggest tip me and my wife have ever given anyone. Alex was upset at the amount of the tip probably because it had to be split into 3. We thought about our experience and think that taking a smoke break while doing a job that is pay per hr and is only a few hrs shouldn't be done. I also think the 3 guys really wanted Gatorade, but the water was out of courtesy and not a requirement. The guys seemed like they slowed down considerably when the clock hit 1 hr. They may have been trying to receive more commision. Overall the experience wasn't good because of Cody. Cody should have informed me of the $95 appliance charge and should have estimated to move an entire house to take more than 3 hours. BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Wish I could give Zero stars! Use them if you want to willingly pay double then expected and damage to your furniture!! This was by far the worst experience I have encountered while using movers! My stuff was already wrapped and ready to go from a regular size storage unit and it still took 3 movers (more like two) “3hours” to move my stuff that was already wrapped and neatly boxed. I was not made aware when I spoke to Cody that travel time was included in this supposedly great “All Inclusive” 1.5 hours of “moving time” given with Groupon price match. I called around and other moving companies made their prices very clear. Although there’s sounded expensive, I paid more using this company that states there’s no extra fees. I had to pay double the amount of money and that’s because my husband, son and I had to help with the move to make things go faster and it still cost me double!!! They scratched my entertainment center, broke a bin and come to find out when i went up stairs that they damaged my very expensive ($2,000) leather drawer chest! In 2021 we moved from CA to a temporary house in Florida. The worst scam ever! The movers wanted more money than the initial quote and threatened to put our stuff back in the house if we didn't pay them more, when we had already scheduled everything to sell the house. Then when they finally delivered our items, many were broken and destroyed and worst of all they stole a lot of our precious items. We then bought our dream home, only to be very scared and worried to have to find a good moving company and not have the same bad experience. Luckily went to Home Advisor (Angi) and Jesse responded to my quote request. This is a different type of moving company. They charge by time, not by item, not by cubic footage, not by weight. I was worried that they would be slow. They were the exact opposite! They moved anything we wanted and very quickly. They never stopped one moment. Nothing was broken nor stoleb. One thing: Jesse was a bit pushy on the initial phone call, however, I felt his voice was sincere. I went with my gut feeling. Jesse and his crew were fantastic.
