Gringos locos…? Of Rude Gringos?... You be the judge but be warned! STAY AWAY! Rudest customer service (and I am not the only one, look at the other reviews.. same issue.)
I went up to get 1 rice and beans bowl ($2.50) and a FREE sloppy taco (with ANY purchase) please see photo! And at first they charge me for just the bowls ($2.65 with tax). Then when I told the cashier that I also had the FREE taco ($2.99 “value”) and show my card, all of the sudden the charge was $3.50! Of Course I say that the card said free taco, no limitations, with ANY purchase… after a couple of minutes she brings the “Manager” and that is when it all went downhill.
The guy have very poor customer relations skills, condescending tone, and really inflexible. I explained that this it a ticket that they give me every month at an event called tech and beer and I have used before with no problems and all I got was I can not do nothing, it is the computer. Upon continues conversation he called “THE BOSS” and say that they will have to fix it later but I won't get the full discount. So I asked the is it really worth it to have a customer go through bad experience because the computer is obviously wrong (SEE Picture for the discount) to what he responded in the most condescending tone ever.. “You know what sir, I take care of the meal is free for you”.
I said thank you and sit in the table and eat… To my surprise the same so called "Manager" shows up at my table and tells me… OK I fix the computer, and you have to pay for that. At that point I did not want my experience to get any worse and obviously this guy is not suited to be a manager so I went ahead and paid.
What a poor customer experience the guy is majorly under-trained not fit to manage a restaurant he should be sent to take customer service training. Sad to see where people manners and common sense has gone this day.
I have attached the receipt of the transaction along with the “FREE TACO” card.
The worst, and the food is not...
Read moreGringos Locos is legendary amongst the downtown crowd. It was floated as an idea every time my class would go downtown. We went once, but it was in 2015, so I don't remember anything about that trip except that it was delicious.
Fast forward to six years later. I'm now an adult, three years into my career, and I'm on the hunt for the best food in Orlando, always. Well, according to the lovely readers of Orlando Weekly, Gringos Locos has this year's best nachos in town. Nacho making, as we all know, is an art form. Their quality varies greatly depending on how skillfully you build them.
I took a small break from Immerse 2021 and stopped in. There was a substantial, which is a side effect of being amazing, so plan/order ahead if you're wanting to get in and out of this place in a hurry. When I got to the front of the line, I ordered the Drunk Nachos (Tortilla Chips Layered with Everything).
They mean literally everything. Check the photo to see this titan. Chicken, beef, pork, brisket, beans, cheese, onions, tomatoes, olives, lettuce, guac, sour cream, I've honestly lost memory of what all was on this thing. Just be ready to have every nacho itch of yours scratched. AND, the layer effectively. Chips, toppings, chips, toppings, top toppings (like guac and sour cream).
This was a delight. The chips were super crispy, not too thick not too thin. Plenty of each kind of meat. I hope you're sharing this. And it comes at a really great price. This place hasn't suffered inflated prices from an inflated ego.
Overall, I can see why this place has gained legendary status, and I will be coming...
Read moreFirst and foremost, I'm sure not everyday is the same but this had to be one of their worst. The customer service was absolutely terrible. The young, very rude girl essentially threw my bag of food on the counter at me and was too busy flirting with her also terrible employee. Both were rude and very slow at preparing the food due to chatting it up and on her phone.
Now, on to the food and I'll go from best to worst. I got 3 street tacos with a few toppings, verde salsa and guac with queso and chips. The tacos were somehwat mediocre. The corn tortillas were good, the chicken could use more seasoning but was good quality, solid amount of onion/cilantro and a pretty good amount of filling for the size. The chips and queso were decent. Chips werent stale and the queso had a solid flavor. As for the gauc, i have no idea what's going on here. The batch that i had tasted as if someone used applesauce for the base to make it. It was absolutely horrible and probably the worst guac I've had in my life. And for the worst item on their menu......NEVER and i repeat NEVER get the verde salsa. For some odd reason mine was served to me HOT as in temperature, it was overwhelming with old garlic and had a terrible taste of vinegar mixed in. Tastes like what you'd think the juice at the bottom of a trash can would taste like. Disgusting. Sorry to be so harsh but i would not go to THIS location again. The one on Robinson is...
