This ride seems great for kids, but not for most adults or teenagers.
The ride is a classic dark ride that takes you through the story of The Cat and the Hat, which comes straight from the book. Each cart holds 3 people to a row and 6 people to a cart. There are multiple twists and turns throughout the ride and animatronics of the Cat, Fish, and 2 Things. Normally, the wait time is not too long.
The first time I went on this ride was a few years ago with my family. I was younger but still a teenager. I didn’t necessarily have a bad experience with anything, but the animatronics and the audio, from the music to the laughing from the 2 Things, gave me an eerie feeling. There weren’t any other issues.
I went on this ride again just this week with my friend and sister (we are all teenagers) and there were even more issues. The park was quite busy that day, so the wait was long, but that was okay. Once we got on the ride, our pull down belt wouldn’t go down, so we had to get off and wait for another cart. The next set of carts came, and the same thing happened with a whole different cart. The workers got us another cart and we were ready to go. We didn’t have any other maintenance issues but the ride wasn’t as enjoyable as my last experience. It seemed very bland to me and, again, it was creepy with the animatronics, audio, and even the lights and scenery.
To wrap it up, I don’t recommend this to people without children, but if you want the experience of the ride for a first time, then it’s fun. I’d say this ride is not worth going more than once or if the wait is more than 20 minutes. This ride would be great if it was given more refurbishment and attention, given the ride is...
Read moreLet’s keep in mind for a moment that this ride is specifically designed for young children, not adults looking for a few moments of nostalgia which is served up nicely regardless. Like the rodent down the street this is very similar to that bear that loves to eat honey 🍯 like he has a problem. Same exact set up but the entire story is narrated aloud with each new scene you go through representing what you’re hearing overhead. It’s a really cool ride especially for a family with kids, or an adult with really and honest expectations which having a nice desire for some Suess narrations. The gift shop in this one has some cool stuff as well. Lots of possible...
Read moreA fun ride with a whimsical throw back story for those that grew up with these books! The line is always short - think 10 minutes or less. It's a good ride for younger ones, as it doesn't have too many twists and turns. It runs pretty much straight through the book narrative with the classic mischievous cat in the hat running a muck through a house with things 1 and 2.
It's nicely air conditioned from the line to the end of the ride, so it's a great way to recoup on a hot day and get a break. It also exits directly into a shop with some fun finds, so be sure to check that area out.
Overall: B A-OK ride with a few small twists and turns and the classic...
