Per your reply, Id be happy to talk. I called the # provided and after waiting thru auto system an operator said no one was available. Pressed for residents, immediately went to mailbox, it is full. Sat thru auto answer several times to reach whoever was at the ext.s listed, noone answered either ext, left msgs asking they redirect my msg to knowledgeable party. I spent about 5 weeks here and my boyfriend's 2 + 2 second floor apartment. In that time it became clear that this is a very equal opportunity complex where I experienced interactions with a large majority of people who are under the influence spend the day leisurely. I've had a small group of acquaintances as a local dog walker in the area. As far as my boyfriend's apartment it was invested with roaches in the kitchen which is obviously coming from plumbing because it was in the drains including in the dishwasher. Even when pest controls came months after I initially even saw it but that didn't resolve the issue. There was a flooding that created something like a retention pond in front of one of the buildings and on our main pathway. It was bacteria after an alarming amount of time passed before it was cleaned up. There was a neighbor who flipped cigarettes out and started a fire in the mulch twice which I reported it the second time after she refused to come back out and put it out and I was responsible for that again. Later on that neighbor would accuse me of speeding and report me and then this HOA would confront my boyfriend about it. When I confronted them to take accountability and explain what happened which is that my tire squeaked because my auto stop-start feature was engaged and I didn't know it, and I sure didn't speed because it was also very alarming how many people would speed and avoid that hefty speed bumps that they have that create quite a bumpy ride. For some reason these neighbors were very much interested in the relationship with my boyfriend and when we had a disagreement as we were getting ready to walk our dogs one came running out accusing me of slapping him which I absolutely did not and while he decides to remain silent in the issue, the police were called and while I was told to wait for them I did so quietly until another neighbor came out to do our laundry and decide it for some reason when nobody was bothering her to jump in wildly, she verbally assaulted me and threatened to physically assault me and made such an effort to get to me to do that that she had to be wrestled by her boyfriend to the ground. I have never seen this person in the months that I spent a lot of time there or in the month that I was there. Now it appears that my boyfriend was in violation of his lease by allowing me to stay there and legally I had every right to be there and reside there by Florida law, I didn't try to impose that, but I didn't really get a saying that because I didn't understand at the time why my boyfriend who I had been residing with was staying so silent and I later understood this and aware of such lease violation would evict him. Instead somebody who named themselves as a manager and was also intoxicated that evening, decided to rectify the situation by simply trespassing me knowing I have business in that complex. For a time of forever. Anytime I was there and that week I had even looked at some of the housing there and had intended to make an application. And it is only affordable housing in the area. When I try to communicate with somebody from the HOA to bring to their attention the fax and support that with evidence I had, they simply threatened to make a complaint against me for bothering them. There is obviously a lot of questionable behavior that is systematically overlooked in this complex and that is a perfect place for many people, but of course for somebody like me or anybody who may consider that they are vulnerable and where such behavior and bias is used to resolve any conflict, I wouldn't be able to suggest this place. Their behavior towards me it was very careless and at no point representative...
Read moreBUGS BUGS BUGS!! I will be the first to warn you DO NOT LIVE HERE! I was a tenant for 2, almost 3, years at this sorry excuse of a living establishment. The conditions from the moment I moved in were subpar. The first issue being the VERY geriatric air conditioning unit located in the guest bathroom. From the moment we moved in this AC unit would leak excessive amounts of water. We had RANDY the maintenance man out to âfixâ it probably close to every month, or multiple times a month. I would like to note that on one occasion he had to replace a part for the AC and upon leaving my home I discovered he left ALL of his trash from the packaging inside the WET can that I was using to catch the leaking water and simultaneously tracked dirt and mud all over the floor of my apartment. Absolutely unprofessional and LAZY. The leaky AC was a persistent issue throughout my time here at The Park at Santa Maria. There was also mold in the AC bathroom, always. No matter how much you cleaned. Always. Moldy. In addition, I experienced just about every single bug you can possibly imagine (maybe even some new undiscovered species from the pits of the underworld). German cockroaches, termites, wasps, spiders, etc. Not to mention the tremendous amount of termite feces that was present year round on all of the staircase ledges. Yearly, the termite swarms would chew their way through the wooden windowsills and infiltrate the entire room. Spraying would not get rid of them. The only solution was to duct tape all of our windows. The apartment did offer pest spraying monthly, however they did not require your presence to enter your unit, and would not schedule at a time that you would be home. This did not work for us due to having pets. We sought our own pest control from a different company (which we have used in the past and would always work well. The insect load at this apartment was just too heavy). Another important thing to mention about this place is that on the second story outdoor balconies there is CARPET. Living in Florida, this is not a wise choice due to the amount of rain we get, so there was always excessive mold and algae growth on the balcony, making it unusable. In addition, the screened in patio had multiple holes in it which allowed wasps to enter and form nests inside of our patio. There are no washing machines in unit, and they are all controlled via app. On multiple instances the app would not work even if you tried to update it, uninstalling/reinstall it. Not to mention how OVERPRICED the washers and dryers were. Washing machines smelled like mildew of course. Overall this is the most disgusting place I have ever lived. The rent here is cheaper for a reason. Save yourself the trouble, find literally ANYWHERE else to live. Oh and I should mention that on top of the extensive cleaning & making sure the apartment was up to standard that was done prior to moving out, they never gave back the security deposit (shocker). Every issue that was left with the apartment was not our fault or our problem. Below are some photos of our...
Read morePlease donât do it, if you are trying to build a good life for yourself and love ones. Donât be fooled! All the low reviews are valid! Roach infestation, nothing done after multiple maintenance calls. It was something of nightmares. Laundry rooms are disgusting. Always malfunctioning machines that no one fixes. Machines smell of mildew and a sour smell of multiple others body oders. Residents are strange and not friendly. I am so happy I no longer live there and frankly pity the residents that are stuck there and the employees.
After moving out and leaving the apartment looking better than when we moved in , We got 1. Damages, 80 nail holes not filled and broken closet rod, $500 ( god forbid people have your standard wall hangings) Damages, carpet replacement minus depreciation, $980. Cleaning Fee, stove, fan, bathroom toilets and tub, vinyl, $145. Pool pass bracelet not returned, $35( no one checks for pool passes)
Cassie Danger the community director lacks professionalism and appreciation or regard for her tenantsâ humanity and I believe some or all of the charges for which The Park is attempting to bill us are vindictive in nature. I have saved emails that she blatantly ignored regarding my husband and his disability. I asked multiple times for information about policies and procedures regarding residents with disabilities and never received any response.
She did nothing after we informed her of a terrifying situation during which we encountered an uncommunicative, seemingly homeless, unkempt man that frighteningly appeared from behind a piece of furniture in the bulk garbage area when we were disposing of a bed frame there after dark at roughly 8 PM. He then continued alternately climbing over other items like a wild animal and tossing items that were in his way or that did not interest him. I did not feel safe at the apartments after this occurred for the remainder of the lease.
As a final insult in the last week before vacating she made a very inappropriate, insensitive and frankly hurtful remark to my husband about me having âpregnancy brainâ when she knocked on our door to notify us that she saw weâd left our keys hanging in our door. Little did she know or make any effort to know that I had suffered a miscarriage.
She denied my pleas to extend the lease by a few months due to our financial hardships and the fact that changing residences would put our Emergency Volusia County Rental Assistance at risk, circumstances that contributed to the immense stress I felt at the time and attempted to ameliorate by clearly communicating with Cassie Danger, which communications were for the most part ignored and which stress contributed to the miscarriage...
