Walgreens — Local services in Ormond Beach

I hope this review gets noticed by the management team at this location, because I have to send a massive thank you to Tammy! The other night I was in the area for a work event and upon traveling to the second location, my phone died and I had no gps to direct me. I knew the place I was heading was near this Walgreens, but after driving around unable to find it, I stopped at just to buy a charger. I was having a bad day, and I was extremely stressed since I was supposed to get to the next location early to get our group situated. So naturally, having my phone die and getting lost only amplified my bad day. Tammy immediately greeted me and pointed me towards multiple locations in the store I could find a charger. Then, while I checked out, she allowed me to plug my phone in, and then even pointed out where the second location was! She really went above and beyond in her service and was such a hero for me. I instantly felt so much better just from her simple acts of kindness. She did not have to care or offer any help other than at checkout, but instead she was so sweet and informative. I have been disappointed with this walgreens on a few occations, but today was the last straw. Went there for a passport photo. No one was at the photo counter so I rang the bell. A couple minutes later a woman walks around the corner, looking like I had clearly interrupted her and says "can i help you" . Told her I needed a passport photo. She grabbed camera, told me to tuck my hair behind my ears, took 1 picture, no flash and told me it would take 5 minutes to process. So me and my daughter walked around for a few minutes. She came and found us, had the envelope taped shut with receipt. I asked to look at the pictures and she ripped through the receipt to unveil the worst picture I had ever seen of myself. My skin looked gray and looked like I had bags under my eyes. ( I certainly do not and have a great tan also) I said wow, that's rough and she just giggled and walked away. Never offered to retake the picture or anything. I left the pictures on the counter and went to cvs, over the bridge, where they took a great photo and made sure I was pleased with it before I paid! Went to pharmacy with written prescription. Mean thick lady at desk decided she didn’t like me from the start I guess. First she decided I must promise to never get a prescription from anywhere but Walgreens from that point on to get it filled, then my Canadian drivers license wasn’t enough since it didn’t match my hotels address, when I told her i’m not a US citizen so will not be changing my ID she began to question my residency.

Eventually she agreed to fill it but after letting the treatment settle in and the idea of having to promise to only go to Walgreens so no shopping for price or just picking based off convenience I decided absolutely not did Walgreens deserve my business. I went to Daytona community pharmacy, $20 cash for just about any prescription I saved a hundred at least. pharmanazi atleast taught me the benefit of a good local family pharmacy.
