Find somewhere else this isn’t the place for you. My family recently went to this establishment for vision exams earlier in the week the experience was good the doc was nice and we ended up buying glasses for myself, my wife and my son to the tune of about $1300. At the end of that appointment we booked an appointment for my daughter who is away at school for the weekend. Upon taking my daughter to the appointment the doctor said she had 20/20 vision and recommended taking a supplement to help with some limited night vision issues. As we were checking out the woman at the front desk asked if we wanted to look at glasses. I was confused because that was not my understanding from the doc. She kept saying “I am looking at the recommendation and it says glasses” in the rudest possible way and then the doc finally came back out and said if she wanted glasses it wouldn’t hurt. The women continued be rude so we left. Because I had already bought from them I decided it wasn’t appropriate to give money to a place that treats their customers like that so I went home got the paperwork from the 1st visit and returned to the store to cancel the order. Same women decided to assist me (there were two other people available) and this time told me that if I didn’t leave the store while the return was being processed she was going to call the police. I informed her that as soon as I had a receipt for the return no one from my family was gong to be coming to Visionworks ever again and sat down to wait. Long story short as I got the receipt for the return I was met by Oswego’s finest which after a 5 minute interaction I was let go and told the owner didn’t want me back (which I assure you won’t be hard to oblige). All of this was because one woman at the front desk was having a bad day and as I read the reviews seems to me that I’m not...

We had a bad experience here, arrived 5 minutes ahead of our eye exam and there were 3 other families there who all seemed to have appointments at the same time? We were directed to different corners of the store to keep everyone distanced but there is limited seating. I was feeling bad for the employees because a few very rude customers came and went while we were waiting, but they also were not at all friendly or helpful or proactive so not sure which is the chicken and which is the egg there. We had our initial checks after 20 minutes or so (not too confident in the cleaning that was given to this machine which you press your entire face up against by rubbing the rim with a tiny little 1 inch sq alcohol pad but we had our masks so I didn't say anything). After that we were returned to the waiting area. My 6 and 2 year old were very patient but when we reached the point that we'd been waiting an hour after our appt time and I was listening to the employee explain to an elderly man why she couldn't help him because 15 minutes are allotted to each patient we walked out the door and will find somewhere else for our vision care needs. Visionworks has the air of a poorly run business where customers and employees alike are unhappy to be there. Oh, one more thing - the phone rang for at least 30 minutes straight while we were waiting. So yeah, if that was you calling, you're right, they don't...

I brought my daughter here for a contact lens fitting after being told that they cannot release a prescription until they teach her how to insert and remove contacts. We arrived and no instructions were given other than to watch a video on how to insert and remove them. No guidance was given. No introduction to contact lens handling or safety was given. No one was present to observe her and give feedback on technique. No one was present the entire time my daughter was attempting to insert her lenses. Staff members were sitting up front, not checking in on us. I was coaching her and giving her tips the entire time. I can’t imagine someone doing this on their own without any guidance other than a video. Fortunately, I’ve worn contacts before and was able to help her. However, healthcare professionals should be teaching their patients and giving them instructions assuming they don’t know what to do. They cannot be relying on family members or to do the work and teach them. They didn’t even explain there were different prescriptions for each eye. They didn’t explain the importance of using solution to clean the contact lenses. They didn’t even demonstrate how to clean the contacts. Overall, poor customer service. Unsafe practice. Lack of support for patients. Would not recommend this...
