• UPDATE * After my first time experience, which was not so good, Kourtney from management contacted me and offered to make things right. I took that offer for one very important reason; Kourtney made more than just one attempt to reach out to me in an effort to fix things and assured me that my experience moving forward would be a good one. I could not argue with that one bit. It actually made me smile! Thank you Kourtney for reaching out until we connected and got the issue resolved. I appreciate your dedication, not only to the company, but most importantly to your customers. I can't wait to visit your bakery!

UPDATE

So here we are again! I gave this bakery a chance to fix the terrible experience I had with them as a first time customer and they failed miserably. Initially, I ordered a cake back in February over a week in advance for my daughter's birthday and on the day of the party I was told that the cake was not ready. I was offered a credit in addition to getting my money back for the cake they failed to make. I spoke with Kourtney who informed me that the credit would allow me to come back for a better experience.

Fast forward to Thursday, May 16, 2024; I called the bakery to have a cake made for my best friends graduation. I was informed to email the bakery with a picture of the cake, my name, phone number, how many people, etc. Immediately after hanging up I sent the information requested only to not receive any information back. I followed up with another email on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Still no response. I then decided to call the bakery again today, Monday, May 20, 2024 and speak with Kourtney who was busy with a customer. I was told that once she completed her order with that customer I would receive a call back. No surprise that I did not receive a call back.

Very unsatisfied. When one orders a strawberry cake, they are expecting it to be pink. This is the 2nd time I have ordered a strawberry cake from Fresh Bakery and the flavor requested was replaced by something else. The first time this happened the cake was simply vanilla when we cut into it. When I called and expressed how unhappy I was because I was expecting to cut into a pink cake at my gender reveal, they not only apologized but offered me a full refund and store credit. This time around your baker/manager named Blair assured me the cake was strawberry because they had baked it themselves. They went on to say that had I paired it with strawberry icing the taste wouldve been more potent. This was weird to me for 3 reasons: 1. My family and I played a round of "Guess that Flavor?" We detected nodes of cinnamon and sweet potato.

I am not an employee there so the disclaimer shoulve been given to get strawberry everything in order to get the full effect.

The first time this mistake happened no one said our strawberry cakes will not be pink so this isnt a good idea for a gender reveal. So how is it now that im just hearing this for the first time.

I can accept the color being off if they are saying that they use strawberry preserves/ puree but what i can not get over is that it tastes the same as the sweet potato cake I have had on many occassions. This really sucks because I love this bakery, cupcakes are amazing and I often recommend them but this was an unpleasant experience and has me questioning if I will patronize this...

Unfortunately there is no consistency with this bakery. My family and I have purchased several cakes from Fresh, which was foolish on our behalf to keep patronizing but we did. However after receiving my daughter cake for her 13th birthday yesterday this will for sure be the last time. It’s so odd to me that the cakes on social media/ website they post are beautiful but then when you pick up your order you’ve basically been catfished. I just received a cake from fresh for my 39th birthday that was nice. So against my better judgment, AGAIN I decided to order my daughters cake. We wanted hot pink instead we received a RED CAKE. The pipping/ boarder around the cake was so thin and ugly, it looked as if Walmart icing was used. As I’ve said we’ve ordered several cakes and it’s always a hit or a huge miss! Wether the cake is dry or looks nothing like the photo sent or what we’ve asked for ( my sons 18th bday cake was a huge fail as well 2 years ago ) . I think maybe if the customer service wasn’t so poor, the flow of things would go better as well. The consistency of the cake designers is definitely off. Beautiful cakes online, then i receive a cake that looks like someone who just took a cake class at Micheals 5 mins ago designed it. Seeing my daughters 13th bday cake was a huge disappointment.
