T.J. Maxx — Local services in Oxford Township

I had a horrible experience here today. I was standing at the jewelry counter for 10 minutes waiting for assistance while the lady working the fitting rooms stood there staring. I then walked all around the store trying to find someone to assist me, to no avail. After another 10 minutes, I seen an employee come out from the back to stock, and asked for help. She was very kind and immediately got someone to help me finally. I had quite a few items in my cart, ready to check out, just waiting to be assisted at the jewelry counter. The bracelets I wanted were two sets, $3 each, accumulating $6 all together. The lady who helped me said she would take them to the front.. okay.. I had ear rings in my cart that weren’t locked up for $12,more than both the bracelet sets put together. Just found it pretty weird, as if they thought I was going to steal the bracelets as I didn’t mention I was about...

Most of our experience was fine. They had in fall decor and clothes which was a pleasant surprise. The lady we checked out with was nice. I had no problems with any of this, or the lady we checked out with.

The one star review is for the fact the line was about 10 people long and one of the workers (for no apparent reason) left the register. There were only two people checking others out at the front of the store, and they had at least 3-4 other workers out on the floor. With retail, customer service comes top of the line. It didn’t seem like a priority there. I would say their management of their employees is poor if they are walking off of registers when the lines are that long. They could have at least waited until another employee came along to replace them. Maybe it’s ineffective management, maybe it was just an ineffective employee, but something is...

Boy prices have gone up! Formely a decent place to get some good options, it's now a hit or miss. $120 dresses (not fancy) next to aisles and aisles of clearance racks (which also don't have a huge % off) is a little non-TJ of the past.

Perhaps they're re-branding to a higher priced model as they veer away from the value-shopper, it's definitely noticeable!

Clean store and layout and well organized, only complaint is the overabundance of the clearance stickers. It's like a clearance store without the clearance prices (it cheapens the brand you're trying to achieve...).

They do have a very large variety so if Goodwill across the street doesn't have it for $5, these guys definitely...
