I took my wedding dress for alternations, the 2 Seamstress I worked with were extremely professional and polite. My dress needed A bustle added, hem, the spaghetti straps shortened and the dress brought in at the hips. I understand it was quiet a bit of work, but if I could give any feedback for future customers, I would have appreciated a bit more price transparency when getting the fitting done, instead of the sticker shock I experienced at the register. As a matter of fact if my memory serves me correctly I was actually not told the price I was simply asked if I was paying cash or card, and perhaps it’s my own fault for just handing over my card without asking what the total amount was. I was handed over my receipt which I then saw $900. Again I know a few alterations were done but I would have appreciated being talking through what costs were going to be expected to be. I was also charged a rush fee. I’m not sure what the standard in the industry is, but they returned my dress to me a few days shy of having it for 1 month, so I felt like the rush fee was a bit misleading. Lastly I was extremely disappointed that after spending $900 on these alterations the dress wasn’t returned to me steamed or pressed, I think that is a pretty standard expectation, so I now need to pay another service provider to steam and prepare the dress for the wedding day. My father also decided to purchase a custom suit and after his purchase and alterations his final costs were $600 and again his suit wasn’t pressed so he also needed to pay a local cleaners to prep his suit for the wedding.
I do want to add that after taking the dress to another local alteration shop to get it pressed, I was then shown then quality of the bustle. Unfortunately I had to pay to get the bustle redone along with the expenses of...
Read moreI've always shopped at Men's Warehouse but ever since I wandered into Stych ONCE, I've never looked back. The quality is phenomenal, the owners Jim Stych and Sharon are some of the sweetest people I have ever met, and that definitely shows in the people they have chosen to hire as well. Rudy, the suit sales guru, was incredibly helpful, and not only did he pick out a perfect ensemble for myself, but I also mentioned the budget I wanted to stick around, and he was able to keep it within that range. Jim, and all of his staff, are insanely knowledgeable on even the smallest details; whether it be the style of suit, the time period of suit, the material of suit, even the color matching of suits, they have it down to a science. Juanita, the tailor and adjustment special was super sweet and very, very helpful. Oftentimes, to get fully fitted, it can take about 30mins to an hour or so... my measurements AND adjustments to the suit were completed in maybe 10 minutes, probably less. I haven't even gotten to the best part yet either; every single suit that Stych showcases, INCLUDES, the pants/slacks with it. No extra charge, no hidden fees, because as he said to me once "you can't have a completed suit without pants, that shouldn't be extra." I can not stress this enough, if you have never been to their Men's Boutique store, it is a MUST. The friendliest staff AND owners I have ever experienced, and there's no wonder that they are in the process of opening a second location at Portside Ventura Harbor. They've earned a customer/guest for life, and I hope everyone has a chance to experience their store/customer service...
Read moreI stopped by Stych Inc. after a long search for my wedding attire. I needed a suit for myself, 2 groomsmen, my soon to be father in law and the ring barer. The shop was under remodel at the time but Jim and his staff were kind, very helpful and not skipping a beat. I had a specific style in mind but couldn't find it anywhere. Stych Inc has an impressive variety in stock but I still struck out. The rest of my party found what they wanted on the shelf.
Without skipping a beat, Jim asked if I'd be willing to go custom. He showed me a large variety of fabrics and patterns until I found what I was looking for. Jim took his time with measurements, and the fine details to make sure I got the look I was going for.
The staff at Stych Inc. also did some minor alterations for my party to make sure the in stock suites fit them properly. All the suits were ready for pick upwhen they promised. We had a minor snafu with the ring barer's suit but that was my fault for not checking everything before leaving. Everything worked out for the wedding regardless.
All in all, they've earned a...
