Employee makes me not want to go back.
A week ago was my first time going into Ulta. I don't usually go into beauty stores and felt very much like a fish out of water. But everything went fine, I found a new brand of nail polish to try and I ended up loving it so today I went back for 4 more colors. But today the sales person who checked me out makes wanna never go back in that store again. She asked me several times for my phone number for various reasons and each time I said no. Then she finally said I needed to give them my phone number in case I wanted to return the polish. I questioned why and she immediately got defensive. It was "store policy" and "not her decision" when I didn't accuse her of anything and I even said out loud I know it's not her fault. I suggested she tell her manager I think it's a ridiculous policy and she repeated it wasn't her decision. Then when I tried explaining why I wasn't comfortable giving my phone number she immediately cut me off "That's ok." I quietly tried 2 or 3 times and she cut me off each time. I could tell she was obviously bothered so I tried showing some empathy and asked if they get harassed regularly over it, but she made it very clear she wanted nothing to do with me and turned her back on me before I even left the counter. I even apologized out loud to her as if I had done something wrong. I tried talking to her about how much I liked the polish, how it hadn't chipped in a full week but she still dismissed me. I used a friendly voice and told her I hope she has a good day. She did not respond to it. I had gone into Ulta with the mindset that I was gonna talk to the employees about how much I loved the polish and have some friendly morning conversation, but I left feeling like a horrible person instead.
I think you either need to pay your employees better so they're happy to be at work and/or give them better training. Also drop the whole phone number returns policy, I can easily buy this...
Read moreGreat store with lots of variety, but horrible customer service. I walked in there fully intending to invest in a full skin care routine. I also had some makeup needs I wouldâve liked to address. I wandered around for over five minutes, looking down the aisles till somebody finally asked me what I was looking for. I told her I wanted Peter Thomas Roth, which is a very high-end skin care brand. I was told âitâs back thereâ. I walked back found the product I was interested in ⊠there wasnât a mirror in sight that I could try so I wondered around half the store trying to find a mirror. Finally found one ⊠did not like the way the primer I picked looked so I tried to wipe it off .. no Kleenex.. Iâm wandering around looking for Kleenex. There is a girl watching me who looked at the station I was at, scrunched up the empty Kleenex box and walked away. So now Iâm looking for another product once again nobody is there to help me. I finally walked around the store until I saw somebody just standing there, I asked her for help. She rather unenthusiastically wandered back with me and did find the product I was looking for which is a plus. At no time did somebody offer to help me. Nobody asked me why I was looking for what I was looking for or if I needed any more help I spent $55 in there today. I was fully prepared to spend over $300. I SO wanted someone to help me. Granted it was a Saturday and itâs busy, but I did see Associates helping other customers, but maybe the right thing to do wouldâve been to tell me theyâd be with me in a few minutes or get me someone else that could help me. I was frustrated and disappointed, and I will never go back. I will stick...
Read moreI wish I could give no stars :( The store mangers is amazing let me say that!! Sheâs extremely nice and helpful but I would avoid the salon as much as possible here. I went in w/ platinum blonde hair and asked for a balayage (blonde!!) and a little bit of root blending.... I ended up with all over brown hair cries Iâve never had brown hair before so that was extremely devastating. The stylist tried to play it off like nothing was wrong and even said âit has the balayage styleâ when my hair was def one color tone of brown. She then told me it would lighten over time..... BUT TO A LIGHTER BROWN. My hair had absolutely no blonde in it at all. I literally went home crying. She told me to come back the next day and she would try to fix it for it for free. I go in so hopeful to get my blonde back (and hey why not give another chance?) and she then told me her only solution was to wash it as she thought my hair would fall out and blamed it on the toner for turning my hair brown (no just no - not to mention she used two different toners). I basically now have brown hair after being blonde my entire life.... and she said I canât get my blonde back for six months because itâs now damaged. Ulta ruined my hair and then charged me $220 for âhighlights.â As I was leaving the salon manger even said âitâs not that awful of a color.â Like she knew it was bad and obvi not what I ask for at all. My stylist was super nice and I had hope but itâs not worth it :( Aveda is only a block away I recommend going there instead. The store manger ended up refunding me and was the sweetest...
