Very disappointing. When my girlfriend and I saw this restaurant open up by where I live, we were overjoyed. We both love Mediterranean food, and with my dietary restrictions it's one of the few types of restaurants I know I can eat at without running into trouble. Luna rocked my world... First, full disclosure, we got there about 20 minutes before close. We felt bad but we were starving, so we decided to get it to go. My gf checked in on Yelp to get the $5 off discount, which she wanted to use to try the sampler platter. The clerk was friendly enough and appreciated us ordering to go. Cool right? So we pay, and I'm exhausted so I didn't think much of the bill until we got home. She didn't apply the discount (which, btw, was 25% of our bill) which is lame because if we were going to pay full price we would have just split the one dish. The decision to order the sampler platter was that it was worth 5 bucks to us to try a little of everything. The food seemed to take a little while but no big deal. We went home and started eating and we were thoroughly disappointed. To be fair, the gyro quesadilla was pretty good, and if I didn't get sick I probably would have come back for that. I have to give credit where it's due. Now, for the bad parts... First, they put mint in everything, to the point it's bad. Second, we ordered spicy hummus and it tasted like regular hummus with mint- there was nothing remotely spicy about it. The hummus actually tasted ok and the pita bread was great, but it wasn't what we wanted. Third, the falafel tasted burned, like old oil was used to cook it (again, end of night). Fourth, and the main reason we will not go back- we both got sick. Upset stomach and diarrhea like I haven't had in years, spanning days. Normally, with my Ulcerative Colitis, it's hard to tell if I get food poisoning unless someone else gets it, and even then I can't usually tell the difference. With Immodium, Tincture of Opium, and Diphenoxylate/Atropine tablets I still couldn't get things under control. We had a full box of food leftover that went promptly in the trash. Disappointing waste of 20 bucks, a night that was supposed to be relaxing, and a handful of medication. Would not...
Read moreThe food quality is good, quantity of food is small and the staff is good or atleast most of them are. The reason why I’m leaving this review is that I don’t see any reason to come here due to pricing increase. The chicken and kobideh platter was 13.79 which increases to 14.79 then 15.79 then 16 something then 17 something and now just in less than a year the price has increased to 19.99. I cannot justify the small quantity of food been given at this price. Inflation has affected everything but your price increases are close to 40 percent. Inflation is at 13 percent in the past year. All other restaurants have increased prices in line with the inflation but not you. Kabob and panini grill in woodlands hills California is a far superior middle eastern greek place and their prices are EXACTLY the same. I can get a combo platter with chicken and kabob for 17 dollars with massive quantities of food. Your corporate greed has lost customers and that’s why you are increasing prices because of loss of revenue. You can notice this or continue to lie...
Read moreThe food here is always solid. The 5 Stars are for the young lady who answered the phone today (July 17) around 6:20pm in London Oxnard. I order from the Ventura location a lot.. DoorDash normally defaults to that location. After I placed my order today, I realized it had sent the order to Oxnard. Within three minutes of placing the order, I tried to cancel it, but I got a message saying I was not able to so I called the Oxnard location. The young lady that answered the phone could not have been nicer or more helpful. Without missing a beat, she offered to call the Ventura location and have the order transferred over. Oxnard is not that far but parking at the Collection can be quite challenging and I live five minutes from the Ventura location so I was really hoping to not have to go to Oxnard.. True her word, the order was transferred to Ventura. It’s been a very long day and I am beyond appreciative for her...
